iOS 16 is the 16th and upcoming major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple for its iPhone line of products. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 6, 2022, as the successor to iOS 15.The first public beta was released on July 11, 2022. The public version of iOS 16 is to be released on September 12, 2022.
iOS 16 is very similar to iPadOS 16. It is the first iOS version to work only on iPhones, as iOS 16 drops support for the seventh-generation iPod Touch.
