BREAKING: ministry of healthy of uganda has reported again today
13 truck drivers test positive for coronavirus in Uganda

Out of the 13 new cases,7 are Kenyans, 4 are Ugandans while 2 are Tanzanians. Tracking them has commenced and the public will be informed accordingly

Uganda’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 114 after identifying 13 new cases on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Health, all the new cases are truck drivers from the 2,421 samples tested on Friday May 8.
“Out of the 13 new cases, 7 are Kenyans, 4 are Ugandans while 2 are Tanzanians. Tracking them has commenced and the public will be informed accordingly,” says the Health Ministry in a tweet on Saturday morning.
The Ministry says also 740 community samples were on the same day tested and came out negative for COVID-19.
Uganda’s total number of recoveries remain 55.
Out of the total 114 confirmed cases in Uganda, almost half are not Ugandans.
Following the increased Covid-19 cases among truck drivers, the trade and transport national taskforce sub-committee resolved that drivers park in only gazetted places where they can be tracked while in transit in case their results, from samples taken at the border of entry, return positive.
