Several MPs allied to the Jubilee government want President Uhuru Kenyatta to skip the ICC proceedings.
The MPs who included Kieni MP Kanini Kega and Kandara MP Alice Muthoni said the President should instead concentrate on state affairs.
President Kenyatta's trial in The Hague is scheduled to start on the 12th November.
The remarks by the two MPs come hot on the heels of ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda's statement to the effect that the President must attend the proceedings without fail.
Bensouda in her statement said ICC expects President Uhuru's physical presence on the 12th November.
But the MPs felt that requiring the President to be away for two months was bad faith on the part of the ICC.
President Kenyatta and Deputy President Ruto have publicly declared they will co-operate with the ICC.
Deputy President Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang are currently in the Netherlands attending their trial.
The second witness in the trial against Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang is currently giving his testimony.
