So Sad and I am in a Great Shock after Hearing Another Deadly Road Carnage in Tanzania. I Urge the Authorities In Tanzania To Come Up With The Draconian Laws So As To End This. I have Seen the Pix of Two Passengers Hanging on the other Bus Wreckage With Full of Blood Around them. I can't hold My Tears! Why This? and Why has it become A Routine In Tanzania Highways? Something Serious Should Be Done so as to Curb this Otherwise We're Finishing Our Manpower and the Loved One's.

I have heard the news roo, its so sad,may their soul rest in peace, the goverment should introduce the new laws to stop this immediately though accident has no cure, but its important to take precaution

Sad news again. Seems we are getting used to sad news as the government does not take stern measures to prevent these horrific accidents. Recently, someone told me that life in Tanzania is cheap. I have come to believe that, and it seems the authorities have the same view too!

It is sad indeed. I second you, authorities need to step up their game to curb reckless driving.

I think accidents can be controlled to some extent, for instance if motorists adhered to road regulations. A bunch of these accidents are a result of reckless driving.

Honestly, i expect nothing from this Gvt of Jk, the number of accident has been increased day to day n nothing yet has been done to curb this. Many accident nowadays has been also associated with superstitution , i think drivers themselves should take steps into this rather than waiting for gvt because its all about our lives, nt Gvt life.

We should not expect too much from the gvt, i think we drivers should take steps in controlling our driving, no matter what steps the gvt can take, if we do not play our role, we dont have to expect any miracle

in whch country u kam from 'till u nid the translation of the above post?? I think most of us east african know kiswahili....... Khaakaaaaa

GENTAMYCINE is on the right. This is an English only palace so comments should also be in English.

the gvt has nothing to do with this, the drivers and the passengers should be chief commandors on this.it happens becasue we dont care on speed and car positioning

The government is partly to blame. Don't you think if there were no loopholes in the issuance of driving licenses the rate of accidents would have been minimised to some extent?

Exactly General8, we dont have to blame gvt for each n everything. If you are driving while drunk, is this also the government problem?, if you are using defective vehicle, you want the gvt to be blamed for this?

Of course, and most of us teenagers, we think that we are smart enough to fool traffics with our wrong processed driving licence, n this is the consequences, we should go to driving school and learn those traffic signs properly instead of using short cuts.

Inevitable;
I was just looking at my driving license, and as I was thinking of how much trouble I had to go thru to get it!!! The gvt said that we have to undergo all this trouble so that real drivers will be given the appropriate driver's license to minimize the road accidents.
To our surprise, the increase of accidents is what we see. We used to travel in night time as it is in many neighboring countries. The gvt said that many buses caused accidents so we will only travel and reach our destination before 10.00 pm. But now, we see that many of the accidents occur even before 10.00 am.
My say, Our gvt does not have a real cure for this. They are just grabbing on any straw that passes by. Where on earth other than Tz where by a 30 - 40 years old drive is given the lives of 60 passengers to ferry them from Arusha to Mbeya? Do we really consider their experiance in the driving field? Someone comes with a very new driving license and yu give him a Youtong bus to drive. We are nuts. The New License Project was just another way of some people to get their stomachs filled.

mangatara

I agree with you. The government can minimise road accidents to a greater extent by first ensuring that the issuance of driving licenses is pa standards.
