Kibra MP Bernard Imran Okoth on Thursday, February 11, unveiled a multi-million school in the constituency which his late brother Ken Okoth had laid the foundation stone for years prior.
In an event attended by a number of Nairobi County leaders, the legislator handed over Kibera Secondary School to the School’s Board of Management after it was completed.
The modern building structure is expected to play a huge role in the provision of education services in the constituency.

The building boasts of 12 modern classrooms, three laboratories, administration offices, a kitchen and 24 ablution blocks.
It is expected to serve hundreds of Kibra children for years to come.

"I would like to thank everyone who attended today’s event and assure the people of Kibra that I will deliver on all my campaign promises and work to better the livelihoods of our children as well as the people of Kibra," Imran noted.
While campaigning for the seat to take over from his brother, Imran had pledged to continue in his late brother Ken Okoth's footsteps.
The departed leader had coined a slogan that implied that better access to education would alleviate crime- Build a school, close a jail.
Picking up from where the late MP had reached, Imran promised to complete the construction of Kibra Secondary School in a record 100 days.
"I've started working to ensure that I deliver on the promises I made during campaigns. I inspected the ongoing works earlier today to ensure that I meet the target," he stated at the time.
During the unveiling event on February 11, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris commended the MP for completing the project.

"Congratulations Okoth on the official opening of Kibera Secondary School. I know Ken Okoth (RIP) is smiling down on you. Kibera Sec. School is poised to not only be an oasis of learning for the local community but also a centre of excellence," she stated.
Other leaders who graced the event were Nairobi Deputy Governor Anne Mwenda Kananu MP, Roysambu MP Ndirangu Waihenya, MCAs from Kibra, Catherine Okoth and Rose Masitsa and the Ambassador of Palestine to Kenya Hazem Shabat.
