A New Constitution before 2015 is A MUST - NO COMPROMISE

What we are asking is not an act of 'mercy' or 'charity'. We are not asking CCM and its government to have "mercy" on us and grant us a "new constitution". As a matter of fact, we are not even asking "them". We are demanding a New Constitution BEFORE the next General Election.

It doesn't matter how many of "them" would come out and tell us that there would be no "new constitution". It doesn't matter how flawed their arguments are (as we intend to show them); and absolutely it doesn't matter who's the next person to come out to tell us that "there would be no new constitution". It doesn't matter at all.

Our resolve is very clear and our determination certain; we can not go to the next election in 2015 with this constitution. CCM and its supporters should understand that there would be no compromise in this one. No number of amendments to the Constitution will be good enough to quench our thirst for a new Constitution as we begin the second half a century of our independence.

So, let there be no illusion that we will be content with "some changes". We WON'T. If "they" won't lead the charge for the new constitution, a new generation of Tanzanians bold enough will take this call of our generation. Yes they will; Yes WE WILL.

So, do whatever u want to stop this new wave of constitutional reform; and whatever u do the new fire that burns within our hears will spread setting new hearts and minds for change for now we know we are not alone in this fight. We are together for change 2015!

When you say "WE" you better be sure that there is such thing existing and its better than "them" in both numbers and strategic positioning..

Interesting, hata kama hizo amendments zitagusa na kushughulikia yote ambayo yanapelekea madai ya katiba mpya lakini hakutakuwa na compromise!!! Is this another dogmatic sloganeering tactic in the making?

Being bold does not mean not being understanding or sensitive on issue of nation destiny....

Karibu nyumbani kaka lakini huku wajanja wanasema, mtu mzima hatishiwi nyau...

Hatuhitaji vitisho kwenye suala la katiba mpya,suala la katiba mpya si la CHADEMA pekee...katiba ni kwa maslahi ya watanzania wote,so unapozungumzia CCM uwe makini coz wapo wanachama wa CCM wanaotaka katiba mpya.Tatizo lenu ni kuweka mbele malengo yenu ya kushika madaraka ya nchi kuliko maslahi ya watanzania,ndo maana mnauzungumza sana uchaguzi wa 2015 na hasa suala la tume huru,kitu ambacho hata asiye CCM anakitaka.kuna watu mko tayari watu wafe ili mradi mpate mnachokitaka.Msitugawanye kwa misingi ya kichama linapokuja suala la katiba.Tanzania ni yetu sote na tunaipenda na tunataka mabadiliko ila si kwa vitisho wala pressure.And who are you to say its a must,are you speaking on behalf of your party or on behalf of Tanzanians,how many Tanzanians know the constitution or how it is of benefit to them?

I have gone back and re-read what I just wrote to see if I ever mentioned Chadema; sorry to disappoint you I didn't find it. The next time when I write about a political party then you can criticize that. Otherwise don't try to be a mind reader. I do not worship at the alter of a political party. I don't not know CCM members who have come out to demand a new constitution, so far there is none that I know of. Almost all who have offered their opinions on the issue they have only spoken about the "need for new constitution or amendments". No one is demanding a new constitution within the ruling party. I stand to be corrected.

Mzee Mwanakijiji Pole sana na hongera kwa kutumia akili nyingi ku dissolve an array of grievances for the need of a new draft constitution..... i trust you appeal for the causes and natural justice should take its path to all stakeholder....... justice will prevail and our country will forever accredit all front liners whom are the shinning examples

Unajua ukimsikiliza AG huyu jamaa anaitwa Warema, unashangaa na pengine huwezi amini kama kweli kuna mtu aliyechoka kufikiri kwa kiwango hicho katika position ile. Nimemsoma kwenye hii isue ya katiba na ya Dowans....wakuu nimechoka. And these are the people wanaotakiwa watoe mwongozo fulani.

Mkuu unachokosa wewe ni Elimu tu, na elimu yenyewe ni ya URAIA ambayo serikali yako imekunyima. Laiti ungekuwa na elimu hiyo wala usingeweza toa hizo comments. Pengine katika mchakato wa hiyo katiba mpya utapata fursa ya kupata elimu hiyo kwani katiba mpya is a process ambapo kuna mambo mengi. Jaribu walau kuwa unaangalia habari za hata majirani zetu kama kenya unaweza pata picha. Ila sikulaumu nitailaumu serikali ambayo imekunyima haki yako ya elimu bora ili uelewe haya mambo.
 
Mtu awaye yeyote anayejitokeza hadharani na kusema hatuhitaji KATIBA mpya; huyu ana faida na hii iliyopo!!!

Just a food for thought:

United States Constitution has so far been amended 27 times after more than 200 years of her independence. How many times URT katiba has been amended in less than 50years? Does it show that our constitution is a 'dead' constitution which doesn't meet the spirit of principles of constitution? i.e. a living constitution?
