Background
Civic Social Protection Foundation (CSP) is an individual membership organization drawn from different parts of Tanzania who has joined their efforts to fight for equity and equality among all citizens of Tanzania regardless of their social and economic status. The organization was established, registered and become fully functioning in early 2007 as Manyara Region Civil Society Organizations (MACSNET) after which in 2019 transformed to Civic Social Protection Foundation (CSP) to reflect amendments made to the NGO act in the same year 2019.
CSP envisions “A Community which enjoys their rights and social wellbeing in Tanzania” and aspires to attain its vision through “preventing, managing, and overcoming situations that adversely affect people’s wellbeing in Tanzania”.
The organization through its four years (2022 – 2025) strategic plan has set priorities and strategies which are determined to address high demand and need from the community following several challenges relating to protection of vulnerable groups including youth, women, children, disabled and elderly at community level in Tanzania. To achieve the above-mentioned aims and objectives, CSP is planning to recruit a competent and qualified accountant to fill the vacancy which is available in its office located in Babati town, Manyara region.
Job Title: Accountant
Roles and responsibilities
The accountant shall directly report to the Executive Director who will be an immediate supervisor in his/he duties, responsibilities and performances.

Roles and responsibilities
- To prepare all books of accounts for all respective periods.
- To prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the organization.
- To prepare all donor reports for all agreed periods as shall be specified by every donor.
- To ascertain all internal controls as regards to cash management, cheques, asserts, procurement and bank reconciliations.
- To supervise and guide the execution of organizational financial policies and guidance.
- Responsible in all matters regarding annual auditing of the organization.
- To prepare in collaboration with program staff organizational annual plan and budget, specific project budget and monitor its implementation.
- To maintain, safeguard and keep in custody all books of accounts, asserts and finances.
- To supervise and guide all procurements and storing of goods and asserts.
- Shall be the main advisor to the Executive Director in all matters related to finance
- Holder of bachelor degree in Accountancy from any recognized Institution or equivalent.
- Working experience with reputable Civil Society Organizations for at least two years.
- Must be competent with computerized accounting packages at least advanced quick book – (This is a prerequisite).
- Must be competent in budgeting and donor financial requirements including reporting.
- Must be competent in all basic computer applications especially excel.
- Must possess and indicate a high level of accountability and integrity.
- Must be able to work under pressure and beyond working hours with no extra payments.
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- An experience of working with donor funded organization is an added advantage.
