ADMISSION TO BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2008/2009
Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology invites applications from qualified candidates to apply for admission for studies in:
1. Bachelor of Technology in Architecture,
2. Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering,
3. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics
4. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
5. Bachelor degree in Business Administration
Course Duration: 3 Academic Years for F.T.C./Ordinary Diploma holders and 4 years for Form Six.
Entry Requirements:
(i) For courses no. 1 to 4
Possession of Ordinary Diploma in related field from a recognized Technical Institution with Minimum GPA of 2.0
OR
Full Technician Certificate with Minimum average pass of C at 3.0 points based on the following scale: A=5, B=4, C=3 and D=2.
Form VI certificate with at least 2 principal passes in Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry.
(ii) For Course no. 5 (Bachelor degree in Business Administration)
Ordinary Diploma (NTA 6) with an average of C grade
OR
Form VI certificate with at least 2 principal passes with a minimum score of not less than 4.5 points and a pass in Mathematics in C.S.E.E.
Applicants with business related subjects have an added advantage.
MODE OF APPLICATION
i. Application forms can be obtained from the office of the Registrar, Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology or can be downloaded from the website: www.mist.ac.tz
ii. Application forms should be accompanied with a non-refundable application fee of Tshs. 10,000/= payable to: The Principal, Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology through Account Number: 6101100022, NMB, Mbalizi Road Branch, Mbeya.
CLOSING DATE
The closing date for receiving the Application Forms is 15th October, 2008.
