Hi,Kungu.which is the best ku band lnb in kenya at the moment?

Good Afternoon bluez,

The best ku in Kenyan market at the is SAMSON twin lnb.

Goes for between 1200/= to 1400/=ksh at the satellite shops based along Luthuri Avenue.

Good Afternoon Kibukila,

Conax embedded means your receiver has a card reader which can read conax smart-cards as long as the smart-card is not paired (married) to a particular sat receiver.

Some Conax embedded receivers can also support both irdeto and viaccess smart cards as in the case of Al Jazeera sports smart card.

The Sayare channel on NSS 12 has SR symbolic rate @ 1085

You would require a satellite receiver with a sensitive tuner card to handle this.

One of the best sat receiver in the market that i have come across is Strong 4922 HD, which comes with a sensitive tuner card which can handle low symbolic rates plus supports in modulation of 16APSK/32APSK.

Satellite Footprints

One of the more important aspects of satellite reception is the footprint of the satellite broadcasts you wish to receive.

The footprint is the theoretical area covered by each satellite broadcast on the earth.

Reception within this footprint will depend on dish size / LNB specs / receiver used also.

Fringe" Reception

FringeSatellite reception is the term used to describe the edge of a satellites reception footprint.

Some factors that govern how deep into a fringe area you can penetrate and still receive the channels you want are most importantly Dish size followed by LNB Specifications (higher gain and lower noise figures), skew angle correctly configured and the receiver performance.

Case Study, Yahsat 1A East Beam

Yahsat 1A East Beam footprint>>>>

What you will note from the map above is Yahsat 1A East beam is centered for coverage of the middle east.

At my location, i have a 2.4 meter offset dish plus Samson twin lnb locked on the sat.

So Much More For FREE !!!!!!!!!

So you are wonder, its 2.40am in the morning and this guy is still blogging, what up?

I am suffering from both A.S.A.S (acute satellite addiction syndrome) and A.S.F.A.S (acute satellite forum addiction syndrome)

My particular strain of A.S.A.S. is rare,

I currently have only 16 satellite dishes plus 8 satellite receivers but in the process for acquiring another satellite dish plus sat receiver.
I know of a member in Kenya who owns 33 dishes plus counting.

I am currently a member in 26 different sat forums going by different user names. Cant keep track of my user name and passwords.

My Neighbours have branded me as Wamadish.

For long, I have been looking for cure of this disease (A.S.A.S)/(A.S.F.A.S) but I can't find it.
It has made me spend money unnecessarily even when I don't have enough in my pocket.
It has severally made me hunt for fringe satellite all through the night not minding that I returnned home late and have not rested.
I never get satisfied with what I have on my receivers in-spite of the array of HD channel, musical channels, sports channels, news channels, documentary channels, religious channels, movie channels and others yet I still look for more.
I am also on IPTV (Internet Protocol television)

I am not alone.

My friend Msonda day starts like this>>

5:30am. Wake up after dreamless short sleep and on the way to the bathroom set the receiver to blindscan all the sats i am connected to.
5:55am. While having breakfast scroll through the channel list to see if the blindscan has been fruitfull.
6:10am. On the road heading to work, usual traficjam, time to log into popular sat. forums to find out what has been posted during the night.
7.30am-12:30pm work, work, work.
12:30-2:00pm. During lunch visit the sat.forums again and ask or answer a question.
2-5pm. Work .
6pm. Home at last. Blindscan all the sats again, surf through all the channels, get the urge to fine tune an lnb to increase quality, get up on the roof and succeed in loosing the signal completly, spend the next 1hr on the roof hunting for the signal which i finally manage to get back to the same quality that i had before the tinkering. Back inside the house and the same cycle is repeated again. Blindscan, channel surf to see if theres anything worth viewing, stumble on a movie you've never seen get hooked on it up to its entirety, begin watching movie no 2 for the night and promptly passout on the sofa after 15 minutes. The mosquitoes have a feast on my exposed skin and i finally regain conscientiousness at 3am and before i find my way to bed in the dark, i log into sat forum to read the new posts. Sometimes i read about new channels and guess what, and instead of going to sleep i start another blindscan and you know the cycle.
This mental disorder is called A.S.A.S. (acute satellite addiction syndrome) This disorder makes you do other strange things but thats a story for another day.

Good night as i must be up by 4.30am. Just logging in to 4 more sat forum sites and am done for the day............

hi kungu,
i need to update srt 4310 with 8281 patch so as to be able to use cccam.is it possible?
Can rs232 port be used for lan, using rs232 to rj 45 converter cable to 3G router?

Mighty Kungu, you never seize to amaze me, you have 16 dishes ONLY. The key word here is only. Well i have 7 only and also very soon aquiring a 2.4 offset to make a grand total of 8. Good evening Philolando,

You can get the patch from http://crosat.us/upload/index.php?&...vers/Strong WIZKID Files/Strong 4 Middle East

Look for SRT4310dg_Patch_20120412_1912_1002AT.rar
New Software for SRT4310 Dated: 11-04-2012

Am not sure if the patch supports cccam.
If it does, you can get a Rs232-Ethernet converter module
