Hi Konaball.

Nilesat 201 and Eutelsat 7 W A are close together, but not at exactly the same place. You should be able to get both sats on the same dish and same transponder, but it needs a bit of fiddling. If you already have Nilesat 201, you should be fine, because Eutelsat 7 W A signal is stronger. You need to lower your dish towards the horizon by just a very small amount, about one quarter of a degree - that way you should be able to keep the Nilesat 201 signal but also get the Eutelsat 7 WA signal. DO NOT change the Azimuth (east-west setting) at all, keep exactly as it is. Kungu1 and others explained how to do this in an earlier quote on this forum.

ASANTE kwa maelekezo yako.
Kwa hapa nilipo nakamata SAT hizi SES5 na NILESAT ila 7WA sijaweza kuipata sasa nifanyeje ili niweza kuipata hiyo 7WA

Hi Martoxxb, This is very interesting. Have you got a TP Frequency for anything on the Africa Ku beam, have you been able to pick up a signal? Lyngsat only shows Europe A and Europe B beams as active, no info on the Africa Ku beam.

Here is the Official Press Release on Eutelsat 3D

BackEUTELSAT 3D goes into full commercial service at 3° East
Eutelsat satellite deployments to optimise capacity at the HOT BIRD position at 13° East and at 7/8° West

Paris, 19 June 2013 – The EUTELSAT 3D satellite of Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) went into full commercial service this morning at 3° East with all traffic transferred overnight from EUTELSAT 3C onto the new satellite. With 33 operational transponders (32 Ku transponders of which 15 are 72 MHz and one 108 MHz Ka transponder), additional capacity is now available from 3° East to address video, data, telecom and broadband markets in Europe and also in Africa through a new service area.EUTELSAT 3D will operate at 3° East until the deployment of the EUTELSAT 3B satellite to this position in second quarter 2014 to provide further spectrum growth and high levels of operational flexibility in C, Ku and Ka bands. The entry into service of EUTELSAT 3D enables Eutelsat to initiate enhancements to its fleet that will bring higher in-orbit security and increased capacity.EUTELSAT 3C will be deployed in early July from 3° East to the HOT BIRD position at 13° East. Renamed HOT BIRD 13D, it will be colocated with the identical HOT BIRD 13B and C satellites. With each bird equipped with 64 high-power Ku-band transponders, they together span the entire range of 102 Ku-band frequencies at 13° East and will deliver broadcast customers industry-leading levels of security and 100% in-orbit redundancy. The reconfiguration of the HOT BIRD constellation will release the HOT BIRD 13A satellite which will be deployed to 7/8° West. Renamed EUTELSAT 8 West C, it will enable Eutelsat to switch on additional transponders at the key neighbourhood for satellite television in North Africa and the Middle East. The 7/8° West arc, already hosting EUTELSAT and Nilesat satellites, broadcasts over 1,000 channels to more than 30 million homes and represents one of the fastest growing neighbourhoods for digital services. This orbital position will get a further boost in the second half of 2015 with the launch of EUTELSAT 8 West B.

Am away from my set-up but will try to track it soonest. Since its still new I believe new/additional players will come on board.

I searched for any signals from Eutelsat 3D, Africa beam, Ku, this evening, but in vain. The orientation of the dish to track this bird is very close to the orientation for SES5, almost identical Azimuth, just a little lower in the sky, 2 degrees or so - So I first tracked SES5 and got a good signal, left the Azimuth alone, and lowered the dish exactly 2 degs, figured that should be on Eutelsat 3D. I then did a blind scan. I could still pick up most of the SES5 channels, but I did not register any new channels not already known to be from SES5, although there were frequencies where I got a green bar with strong quality, but no TV channels picked up. I would have thought that Eutelsat would have at least put out some sort of test channel, endless loop, on the Africa Ku band, even if there were no commercial takers yet. But perhaps they have not even switched on the Africa Ku band yet. All of the channels listed in Lyngsat and KingofSat are on the European transponders, and they have simply switched all of those from Eutelsat 3C, which must be past its sell by date.

who is enjoying the 72e kenyan channels please i hear you people are getting them

I managed to get Sayare TV at 75E using 2.4m but did not pop up on adding on my multi lnb setup.I suspect the signal is not strong enough.
