Kayelekera Uranium mine in the border district of Karonga has been releasing a huge amount of effluent in to the Lake Malawi/Nyasa, as a result of heavy rainfall on Monday 5th. Impacts have already been cited one of it being fish kill. According to the locals, a lot of fish from from Malawian fishermen are (usually) sold to the Tanzanian side (let me end here).
It is already two weeks now, am not sure if the Tanzanian Government is aware, and if it aware to what extent is the question. Follow the link below for more information though Tanzania it was not mentioned in the article.
