I thought this was an internal matter and Tanzania has no obligation to tell our development partners of what we have decided, so claimed the government officials in Tanzania.

Some where something is very wrong, as the Tanzanian government knows that these areas are designated as UNESCO heritage sites and the world plus indigenous people have been enjoying the use of it, be as tourist sites and for pastoral undertaking.

Tanzania has signed many international treaties of how these world heritage sites should be governed but on this occasion it has decided to take unilateral decisions without involving many stakeholders internationally and locally if there arise a need to readdress any of the before agreed treaties.

Now it is finding that the government of Tanzania has to start to do alot of explanations, lobbying and diplomatic manoeuvres to justify its actions, which by far seems to be not acceptable by the international community and the locals as well.
