"....To you all my teachers out there;
How do you feel when you see the children who went through your hands own big homes and drive posh cars when you guys keep using ‘TZ eleven' every morning and evening?
How do you teachers feel when you see your former pupils and students earn big moneys while you guys accept low pays year in, year out? If you want to be successful every job out there is a "call" yes if you so like name it "wito". And everybody needs to be well paid – payment here should be read or considered as a rewarded of the hard work done.
My teachers; do you know that you are more important than what you teach...?? Do you know that you deserve motivation and higher pays just like TRAs, doctors, MPs, Bongo artists…??
Yes I know that you all know that you need to be well paid to cater for your families and have better life styles.
But there is one mistake you are constantly making that is and will continue to fail you if you guys don't change. You are too cheap!! May be not all of you but most of you are too cheap…!!
You know what my teachers; I remember an old trick that my teacher taught me long way back – she told me never go to an interview and propose or accept low pays.. I will not go into details. But it is so strange that you teach us basic things in life but you guys fail to implement the same yourselves.
In a nutshell; if you guys continue to be consulted by the government to perform tedious cores which every single professional out there is not ready to do then you are undermining your own values. If you rank yourselves that low then you are setting a benchmark. In other words you are setting your own low price tags!!
As of now I know many of you are looking forward to be consulted for the voting process comes October 25. Many a times you even tend to bribe to be included on the list of election assistanceship by the National Electoral Commission (NEC) – yes it is okay if you guys are looking for pride in the society!!
I know that you all know that the vacancies you are looking for are all kind of consultancies and as far as I know all consultants are the most paid people out there be it a Bongo Flava artiste, etc – WHY?? They perform a "must do", stressful, demanding and important tasks within the shortest time possible whether they believe in what they are doing or not but still they have to meet the deadline!!
To you all my teachers; here is where you guys spoil it all!! You accept low pays!!! You help them rig elections and many a times the unlucky ones amongst you are not even paid..! You come back home weeping and lamenting like hell.
Another thing you are doing wrong; you side with your oppressors… I mean you are so sympathetic – which you should anyway be given the nature of your job – but you guys have so much sympathy even to your oppressors. This is weird and totally wrong...! You taught me to stand up and fight for my own rights but you guys are not doing the same...WHY??
For how long should they keep on treating you like ‘an old rag' that is useless due to its loss of value..? Why can't you guys learn from me..Why can't you guys learn from many of your successful students..??
In my humble opinion I can't be your teacher in the same way you taught me – I can't be so rude to you like you were to me when I was an adolescent (I wish I could – with all those canes and slaps….!!). Please take heed and learn from your students.
I know that you know that it is well known to all that the most hardworking category of workers in the world is the teaching fraternity. You mould doctors, engeneers, Bongo flava artiste, waiters, bankers, auditors, pilots, etc. You instill knowledge in empty heads! The real heroes are the teachers who at no small risk to themselves refuse to lie down and play dead for censors.
Without teachers, there is nothing like well informed and coordinated society. Am successful because of the love you invested on me and the education that you gave me.
Yes! Education to all is a driver to an enlightened society. Many say, education is the key to success, but the rigid few forget that this success is necessitated by teachers. You deserve to be well paid, period!!
My last message to you my dear teachers; help us to help you improve your lives. Vote and stand firm to see that the old regime is voted out of power. As administrations they were not ready to listen or whatsoever respond to your concerns for almost 54 years.
This has to halt! Yes! This has to change when the new regime comes in. They will work hard to see that they please you - that you are well paid.. It will take a while for th new administration to start ignoring you!!
But you also have got to change, wake up, stand up and! fight for your own rights..!!!
