Didmus Barasa amechaguliwa tena kuwa Mbunge wa Kimilili baada ya kupata kura 26,000 akimshinda mpinzani wake wa DAP-K Brian Khaemba aliyepata kura 9,000.
Barasa aliyegombea kupitia UDA, anadaiwa kumpiga risasi na kumuua msaidizi wa Olunga baada ya kukutana eneo la Shule ya Msingi ya Chebukwabi linatumika kuhesabu kura katika.
Olunga ametishia kupeleka suala hilo Mahakamani iwapo IEBC itatangaza Ushindi wa Barasa. Kwa upande wa Mwenyekiti wa Tume Huru ya Uchaguzi, Wafula Chebukati alisema "Mauaji ni kesi inayoshtakiwa na polisi na hadi wakati ambapo mtu amepatikana na hatia, basi IEBC inaweza kutokuwa na uhusiano wowote na kesi hiyo"

Didmus Barasa has been re-elected as the Kimilili MP after garnering 26,000 votes beating out his rival DAP-K’s Brian Khaemba who came in second with 9,000 votes.
Barasa who was defending his seat on a UDA ticket is currently on the run after allegedly shooting and killing Khaemba’s aide Brian Olunga after the two rivals met while witnessing the counting of votes at Chebukwabi Primary School. Following the incident, Khaemba had threatened to take the matter to court should IEBC announce the results raising concern given that the incident occurred at a polling station.
Addressing the incident during a press briefing earlier, IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati said “murder is a case charged by police and until the time that one has been convicted, then IEBC may not have much to do with the case”

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has since ordered for the arrest of Didmus Barasa.
