Aqua Power ilihitaji kuchukua nafasi ya haraka umeme wa dharura wa dizeli wa bei ghali kwa Dangote Cement, kiwanda kikubwa zaidi cha kuzalisha saruji nchini Tanzania.

Kiwanda cha saruji kilizinduliwa mwaka 2015 na kililazimika kuendeshwa kwa jenereta za dharura za dizeli kutokana na umeme mdogo wa gridi ya taifa (18MW) na miundombinu duni (33KV, 15MVA).

Ili kutoa nishati ya haraka na ya kutegemewa kwa uhakika , Aqua Power ilinunua Seti tatu za Jenereta za Solar Titan 130 kila moja yenye uwezo wa MW 15.

hivi vilifanikiwa kupelekwa Mtwara, mji wa bandari wa Kusini-Mashariki mwa Tanzania, ulio karibu na mpaka wa Msumbiji. Kiwanda cha Umeme kilizinduliwa ndani ya muda wa rekodi wa Miezi Saba (7) ikijumuisha unganisho la gesi ya msukumo (pressure Bar) 70 na njia ya usambazaji ya kilomita 4.

Umeme husafiri kutoka kwa kituo cha umeme kupitia kilomita za nyaya za chini ya ardhi hadi kwenye kiwanda cha saruji kwenye Tanuri, Crushers n.k katika Njia ya Kisiwa.

Aqua Power ina uwezo wa kusambaza umeme kwa Dangote Cement na Gridi ya Taifa yenye maunganisho mawili huru yanayounganishwa katika grid ya taifa.

Mitambo mitatu ya Titan 130, pamoja na vifaa vya msaidizi (kituo cha kupunguza shinikizo la gesi, jenereta ya dizeli ya kuanza nyeusi, transfoma na vifaa vya usaidizi wa voltage ya kati) hutoa nguvu ya kuaminika, ambayo huwezesha Dangote Cement kufikia uwezo kamili wa uzalishaji kiwandani , kiwanda huzalisha tani milioni 2 za saruji kwa mwaka.

Suluhisho la Aqua Power lilimruhusu Dangote kupunguza gharama, na kusababisha akiba ya fedha za kigeni takriban dola milioni 20 kwa mwaka kuokolewa.

Tangu ukamilishaji wa mradi, uwezo wa uzalishaji umeongezeka kutoka 25% hadi 100% na uzalishaji umepunguzwa. Sharti lingine muhimu kwa Saruji ya Dangote ni uwezo wa kushughulikia mabadiliko ya haraka ya mahitaji ya nishati na hatua za kufanikisha upatikanaji.

Kutokana na ubora wa hali ya juu, mitambo ya gesi ya Titan 130 ya Aqua Power ina uwezo wa kukabiliana na mahitaji makubwa ya umeme hata zaidi ya kiwango

Ili kuruhusu ukuaji, Aqua Power iliweka mtambo wake wa kuzalisha nishati ya gesi kando ya bomba la gesi na njia ya upokezaji ya 132KV, na hivyo kuunda uwezekano wa siku zijazo wa kusambaza nishati kwenye gridi ya taifa pia.

Aqua Power needed to quickly replace expensive emergency diesel power for Dangote Cement, the largest cement production plant in Tanzania. T

he cement plant was commissioned in 2015 and was forced to run on emergency diesel generators due to limited grid power (18MW) and poor infrastructure (33KV, 15MVA).

To deliver fast and reliable power, Aqua Power purchased three Solar Titan 130 Generator Sets each with a capacity of 15 MWe. These units were then successfully deployed to Mtwara, the port city of South-Eastern Tanzania, located near the border of Mozambique.


The Power Plant was commissioned within a record time of Seven (7) Months including a 70 Bar gas connection and 4km transmission line.

The power travels from the power plant through kilometers of underground cables to the cement factory feeding the Kiln, Raw Mills, Crushers etc in Island Mode.

Aqua Power is capable of supplying power both to Dangote Cement and the National Grid with two independent outgoing feeders.

The three Titan 130 turbines, combined with auxiliary equipment (gas pressure reduction station, black start diesel generator, transformers and medium voltage auxiliaries) provide reliable power, which enable Dangote Cement to run at full capacity, producing 2 million tons of cement per annum.

Aqua Power’s Solution allowed Dangote to cut costs, resulting in approximately $20 million USD per annum in savings. Since the installation, production capacity has increased from 25% to 100% and emissions have been reduced.

Another critical requirement for Dangote Cement is the ability to handle rapid power demand fluctuations and load steps. Due to its high inertia, the Titan 130 gas turbines are capable of adapting to large load steps (both on-loads and off-loads).

To allow growth, Aqua Power positioned its gas power plant along the gas pipeline and 132KV transmission line, creating a future possibility to supply power into the grid as well.

As part of the deployment, Solar provided Aqua Power with operations and maintenance training, and a comprehensive service agreement, which leverages Solar’s Insight Platform.

This diagnostic technology maximizes plant availability and provides an opportunity to minimize the downtime required to perform scheduled maintenance
