Arrest warrant issued for Shinyalu MP over poll chaos

A Kakamega court has issued a warrant of arrest against Shinyalu MP Silverse Lisamula Anami (ODM) and four other people in connection with the burning of a vehicle belonging to former MP Justus Mugali.
The MP and three of his relatives, Brian Lunalo Anami, Clifton Mutsotso Anami and Ronald Anami are facing charges related to torching the vehicle on March 4 at Lugango village in Kakamega East District.
A fourth suspect Newton Mukambi is also being sought by police over the burning of the vehicle.
The vehicle, a Range Rover Vogue is valued at Sh16 million.
The warrant was issued by Principal Magistrate Mary Immaculate Moranga following an application by the prosecution.
A warrant against one of the accused, Clifford Mutsotso was later lifted after he presented himself to court.
The case will be mentioned on April 29.
