Mouhamadou Dabo Talks Of Lyon And Arsenal Interest

Saint-Étienne's prodigious young full-back, Mouhamadou Dabo, the 21-year-old has begun to attract interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Olympique Lyonnais and Arsenal emerging as the two prime candidates to sign him.

"The one thing I would say from my experience as a player is that you never know when you are going to get injured," added Pearce. "I would say to any player, 'If you are selected for your national team, play as many matches as you can'. I did. I'm not speaking as someone who has been through the mill and picked and chosen my games. You bet your bottom dollar, when you are 35 or 40, you cannot do it any more. I can't play any more. I wish I could."

Pearce argued that Walcott will not have played much more football this summer by being involved with both national teams. Walcott appeared for only 45 minutes of the 4-0victory in Kazakhstan last Saturday and were he not now preparing for the Andorra game, Pearce said that he would have played him in the Under-21s' warm-up fixture against Azerbaijan in Milton Keynes on Monday night, which England won 7-0.

Wenger is expected to give Walcott extended leave and ask him to report back for pre-season training in the third week of July.

Arsenal midfielder Amaury Bischoff set for free transfer to PSG

With his contract at Arsenal winding down at the end of the month, midfielder Amaury Bischoff is set for a move to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain.

The 22-year-old central midfielder was a surprise purchase last summer from Werder Bremen and he struggled for playing time at the Emirates and he also had fitness problems, including a groin operation.

Bischoff made just one Premier League appearance, as a substitute in the 3-0 win at Portsmouth in early May, he also made three other substitute appearances in the FA Cup and Carling Cup.

The Portuguese Under-21 international also played nine times for the Arsenal reserve team.

Sporting Lisbon, Benfia and FC Porto had all been linked with a move for Bischoff but it is believed that Arsene Wengers contacts with the Parisian giants has swayed the move.

There is also speculation that the deal may influence Arsenals efforts to secure highly-rated young PSG striker Jimmy Kamghian.

ROBIN VAN PERSIE says new £10million defender Thomas Vermaelen is just the job for Arsenal.

Van Persie is stalling on contract talks because he wants to see what the Gunners do in the transfer market this summer.

But the Dutch hitman admits he is delighted at the capture of Ajax's Belgian ace Vermaelen, 23, who can play as a centre-back or left-back.

Arsene Wenger is ready to offload William Gallas after the arrival of £11m Thomas Vermaelen.

The Arsenal boss will tie up Ajax's 23-year-old Belgian defender on a four year deal this week, as first revealed in Mirror last month.
That has alerted Juventus and AC Milan who want 32-year-old Gallas, the former Arsenal skipper.
