4-5: A FLURRY OF GOALS AND A COMEBACK AGAINST TANZANIA'S CHAMPIONS TO FINISH THE SEASON
Caparrós' men were two down with five minutes to go, before coming back to complete the comeback in the last minute. Doubles from Nolito and Promes and a goal from Escudero gave the Nervionenses the win
A spectacular comeback to end the season. Sevilla FC win in injury time in the LaLiga world duel in Tanzania against the country's champions, Simba SC, in the Dar es Salaam National Stadium. With a very motivated and physical rival, Sevilla were down by two goals in the 85th minute. However, a spectacular flurry of goals at the end meant Sevilla went away with the win. Escudero scored in the first half and braces from Nolito and Promes were decisive in the second.
The start of the game was energetic and Simba were more motivated than the Sevilla side. And with Sevilla's first attack, Simba made the most of the ensuing counter attack. A rapid transition, a cross from Kagere from the byline and a good finish from Bocco opened the scoring. Shortly after, Kagere would turn scorer, opening up a two goal gap.
Sevilla looked for a quick reaction and had the chance to make it 2-1 after Nolito received well in between the lines, forcing a corner. The goal would come from the corner though as Banega crossed it in and Escudero was on hand to volley in the rebound. However, when it seemed like that was the turning point, another counter attack from the hosts allowed Bocco to fire an unstoppable shot past Soriano. Ben Yedder and Nolito had chances to reduce the deficit but the African side went into the break two goals up.
