In 2015 Bakhresa group turnover was over $800mln. I wonder what will the turnover be in 2018!By 2012, Kenya had 8500 millionaires.
Tanzania had 5700.
Kenya has been listed as the African country growing fastest in this space.
You are a country of 1 billionaire and 60 million paupers.
And still, having a paper net worth does not mean profits. If we were to list the 20 biggest companies in East Africa by annual profit, the first Tanzanian company would appear at around number 15, with Kenya dominating all the rest.

Do you know how many countries azam are in?Equity Bank makes more money in DRC than Azam makes in Tanzania.
Azam cannot even match what Kenyan insurance companies like Jubilee make across East and Central Africa.

Companies that make fast moving consumer products have very high turnover but very low profits.
Meanwhile Safaricom operating in a single country is now approaching $3 billion in revenue.

Kenyan multimillionaire tycoon Vimal Shah has stepped down as the CEO of Bidco Africa, the $400 million (annual revenues) edible oils manufacturer he co-founded with his younger sibling and father.
According to a press release issued by Bidco Africa, Thiagarajan Ramamurthy, a former executive at Nakumatt, East Africa’s largest retailer, has taken over from Vimal Shah as Bidco’s CEO, making it the first time that the wealthy Shah family has ceded leadership of the Bidco empire to a non-family member. In a press statement on Monday, Vimal said ceding control to Ramamurthy was meant to help the Shah family to concentrate in driving the growth strategy of the company and growing Bidco’s market niche as it diversifies into manufacturing new product lines across Africa.
