Earlier today, suspected bandits threw a bomb at a minibus, killing three passengers, one of them an infant, and seriously injuring six others.
Confirming the incident, Buhigwe District Police Commander, Samwel Utonga said the passengers' minibus was en route from Kilelema to Kasulu town when the suspected bandits threw an objected believed to be a bomb towards the vehicle.
The police chief said the casualties have been transferred from Muyama hospital to Kasulu district hospital after seeing little improvement to their conditions.
It is claimed that the suspected bandits tried to stop the vehicle in question, but after the driver defied their order, is when the former threw the bomb.
It should be noted that the village is close to the border between Tanzania and Burundi.
