The Minister of Construction, Innocent Bashungwa, has reassured the residents of Dar es Salaam who use the ferry services in the Kigamboni-Magogoni area, addressing concerns about the services provided by the Agency of Technical and Electrical Services (TEMESA). He stated that the fears were unfounded and created by individuals with personal interests.

In an interview with the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) on May 28, 2024, Bashungwa emphasized the government's commitment to improving ferry services nationwide. He assured that it was just unnecessary panic driven by ulterior motives.

Bashungwa mentioned that many ferries are currently under maintenance and that Songoro Marine is constructing new ferries at their Mwanza workshop to be deployed to various locations to enhance services for the public and facilitated discussions between TEMESA and AZAM Marine to explore ways to collaborate and improve ferry services in the Magogoni-Kigamboni area.
