Disclaimer: This article is not written by a bongo flava star. Sorry to disappoint you. But I will quote Snoop Dogg and Rihanna somewhere in here. So calm down, it’ll get interesting.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “damn, he has a good life, I wish I did, but that’ll never happen.” or “wow, she’s so lucky, she’s got everything. I wish I was that lucky.” If you’ve never thought this way, then feel free to stop reading this article (kidding, I actually need your vote, so please continue). And if such thoughts have crossed your mind a couple times, then hear me out. STOOOOP!!! You sound ridiculous and miserable. Don’t feel sorry for yourself. You were put on this universe to conquer all that has been made. Its okay to admire people sure, but don’t compare or compete with them. Concentrate on creating the best version for you. Be a GO GEAAH.

YOU DESERVE A SHARE IN THE WORLD’S WEALTH

The Universe is such an abundant place, there are opportunities everywhere, wealth is everywhere. All this, just waiting for you to go get them. That car you wish you could buy, its in the showroom, just waiting for you to man up and go buy it. That dream house you wish one day you’d live in, it already exists waiting for you to go get it. That soulmate you want to meet, they are out there waiting for you to make a move. Don’t EVER think that good things aren’t meant for you or that they’ll happen in like ten or so years. Life doesn’t work like that John (or whoever is reading this). You have to take the initiative. Get the hell out of your bed and get to work. Why? Because all the things you desire are out there, but if you don’t do anything, then you’ll never achieve any of them.

You have to believe that you deserve the best the world has to offer. You have to believe that the best is out there. All you have to do is go out there and get it. Go out and meet new people. New people equals new opportunities. Go out there and look for new customers. Go out there and look for your soulmate. And believe that you’ll receive because simply put, YOU DESERVE IT.

DREAM BIG, EVEN IF IT SCARES YOU

It is important to always be grateful for what we are given, shelter, food, clothes, friends. But if you say that your income is only enough for the basic things you need and so you can’t afford getting a car, or a vacation trip, then what you’re really saying is “I was born to work and get money so I can eat, sleep, not walk around naked and die.” Does that sound okay to you? Please, dream bigger than this. Dream of going on that Paris vacation. Dream of driving that luxury car, dream of having a beautiful family, dream of getting that BET award or that Oscar award, dream of marrying Leonardo DiCaprio or Rihanna (I mean, who doesn’t). A dream has to be so big that it sounds insane saying it out loud. Because once you settle for less, you are telling the world that you deserve that which is already given to you and you can’t possibly deserve more than that. And as a result, you won’t work harder because you’re satisfied with average. Don’t be satisfied with average, stay hungry for success, have big goals and work towards achieving them and you shall receive. Don’t expect miracles to happen, go out there and HAPPEN to them.

DON'T BLAME OTHERS, FOCUS ONWHAT YOU CAN CONTROL

If you’ve ever said, “I would have been successful like them but I didn’t have rich parents like they did.” Well what on earth do you think is going to happen? Will your real rich and wealthy parents show up to your now-not-so-rich parents and claim that they stole you so they’ve come to take you back? What Philippine movie universe are you living in Alice? (like in wonderland, get it?) Please come back to the real world. Seriously!

You have to stop focusing on things you can’t control. You can’t control whether you come from a rich family or not, you can’t control the economy either. (A moment of silence for the new makato). You also can’t control whether your supplier raises his prices or not. But you know what you can control, YOUR LIFE. You control whether you have an income source or not, you control whether you have a healthy relationship or a toxic one. You control whether you’re surrounded by successful people or not. You control whether you’ll run a successful business or not. YOU. You also control how to respond to situations that are out of your control. If your supplier raised his price, get a new one. If the government places new makato, shift to sending money by a bodaboda or a bus if you want. It’s your choice. Point is, you can’t blame other people, IT’S ALL DOWN TO YOU.

So don’t pin your crappy situation to your parents, or the economy or the government, or that company that didn’t want to hire you. If you don’t have the best life right now it’s because of you. You chose not to work on living your best life. If you have a lousy job that doesn’t pay well, it’s you. You’re choosing to stay although you know you deserve better. If you live in a crappy apartment, it’s your fault. You chose not to work on affording a better apartment. And don’t say you don’t have the money, it’s not money’s fault. Money exists, its waiting for you to go get it. So work on changing this narrative so one day you can thank yourself like Snoop Dogg did. And you’d go,

I wanna thank me for believing in me
I wanna thank me for doing all this hard work
I wanna thank me for having no days off.
-Snoop Dogg

So start changing your story. If you’re tired of using the bus, work on buying a car. If your income level cannot afford it then find a way to make yourself afford it. (except don’t be like a thief or anything). If you’re a businessman/woman and you charge a certain price based on the costs and competition then add value to your product. Add more value to your service. If your competitors don’t offer a delivery service, start delivering. If they deliver late, deliver faster. Improve your customer service, (I mean they are giving you their money, least you could do is smile). Once you add value, you are going to achieve Unique selling points that are going to make a customer buy from you rather than the next-door store. And they won’t mind if they have to pay extra cause they know there’s more value to your product than the rest. Then Bahm! More income equals that car you’ve been wanting to buy and you can say bye bye to passing through that Daladala window. Now that’s something you can thank you for. So make a habit of getting rid of the crappy life you’re living and start creating a life you love. Rihanna sang you gotta “work, work, work, work, work, work.” So, who are you to think otherwise? GET TO WORK!

So in summary, believe that you deserve the best things the world has to offer and don’t settle for the basic stuff, dream big and live big. Don’t only dream though, GET TO WORK. Work on living your best life and you will.

I could write more but naah, I don’t wanna miss the prize ‘cause I exceeded the word limit. No way. Stay inspired!

Thank you for your time : )
