A few years back Dr Hassy Kitine a former Chief of Intelligence, Diplomat and Academician commented in a TV discussion that there are three countries in Africa south of the Sahara that match in Economic potential through their natural resources and these are Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) and Angola. He went on to say that a patnership of these giants would not be lopsided as each one of these giants has all the natural resources that the Creator can endow a country. Looking at what is going on within the East African Community I am tempted to advice Tanzania to mantain good relationship with DRC, a country that is not craving for your land. Your current partners have not forgiven and will never forgive you for constantly refusing to make land an EAC issue. I submitt.

I think is a high time for Tanzania to open up mind and make U-turn. We were totally lost to embrace the so called EAC. if you look behind of each EAC leader you would reveal that there is no trust among them. Kenyatta does not trust m7 or pk and vice verse. Worse enough, the blood shedder Paul Kagame with his tin country feels to have upper hand than the giant countries in the Community this is awkward. We have huge land which they don't have; we have a lot of natural resources which they don't have; we have a spirit of togetherness which they don't have; we are united the element which lack in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. What is important to us is to fight corruption and protecting our natural resources so that development can cherish. DRC can and is a good economic partner to us. Acha Manyang'au wazikane wao kwa wao

Fugwe I buy your vision to add up what URT and DCC lack is committed Leadership for protecting and utilizing the long list of natural resources, social cohesion and unity amongst ourselves. Lets Kanyatta Jnr, join his new allies Museveni and Kagame (these guys are ready to see Kampala and Kigali flooded with dead bodies provided they remain in Power) In fact, its a great combination of power mongers (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda) embedded with arrogance the split wont take long to turn into pieces.

As the saying goes.."walls turned sideways are bridges".By being snubbed by Uganda,Kenya and Rwanda Tanzania can forge a new bilateral relationship with the new rich boy in the neighborhood (DRC) which in my opinion is more beneficial strategically and economically in the near future than say Rwanda and Uganda combined(Kenya will always be our partner weather they like it or not as we share more border posts than the aforementioned school kids-Uganda and Rwanda).
Having said that....everything will be down to leadership.Tanzania has been a sleeping giant for so long now.It has to wake up.Haya mambo ya kupewa mosquito nets na sisi tunatoa dhahabu hata Chief Mangungo huko kaburini anatucheka. Why is Botswana richer than us despite our abundant natural resources?LEADERSHIP!(the green color-pun intended)

Umenena kwa hekima sana mkuu, DRC ni partner mzuri sana kwa maendeleo ya TAIFA hili...

According to The East African newspaper, it's estimated that DRC has mineral deposits worth about 33 trillion USD! More than the GDP of both United States and the entire EU combined. DRC is a sleeping giant and has the potential to become the number one economy under the sun

U have spoken through ur writings my brother,

You have my greenlight dude, let us trash these two blood shedders M7 and the slimed PK without 4geting the one with great tribalistic attitude and a man at ICC the Famous Uhuru. We can make it without them for real, as always for Entrepreneurs, there are as many unexploited venues as there are many Citizens in Tanzania when it comes to economic independence!!!!

Well said, but let not let leave our evils aside, both us and DRC had the economic opportunity but we share the same experience on the level of poverty, corruption and weak leadership. You said well that Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda experiences shorted of some important agent of economic growth but at least they have well focused leaders regardless on how outsiders can view and comment on them. We have the duty to fight to the three enemies; corruption, poor distribution of the national cake, and see how we can strengthen our leadership by having good systems that Livvie government leaders to vandalize our little resources we have.

Hapa Mkuu umeua kila kitu!!
