Before You Give Up, Watch This: Finding Strength When You're Broken

Life has a way of surprising us, doesn’t it? Just when you think you’ve reached your limit, it reveals that there’s more strength left within you. I remember a time when I was at my lowest, feeling like there was nothing left in the tank. I had hit rock bottom, with nothing but the clothes on my back and an empty stomach. But even in those moments, something inside me refused to quit. I dug deeper, found strength I didn’t know I had, and kept pushing forward. I didn’t come this far just to stop here.

Those words aren’t just a saying—they’re a way of life. Life has taught me that when you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, when you think you have nothing left to give, that’s when you need to dig deeper. I stared struggle in the face and said, “Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.”

This message is for anyone trying to get in shape, lose weight, or turn their life around. I’m proud of you in advance. Keep pushing. Keep grinding. People often don’t see the greatness within themselves—they stay on the sidelines, content to watch from the stands. But I’m telling you, it’s time to get in the game. Show up when no one is watching. Work hard when no one believes in you. Don’t let diabetes steal your future. Don’t let high blood pressure hold you back. Fight for the healthy life you deserve.

Fitness isn’t just about your body; it’s about your heart and mind. Deep down, we all want to see the best version of ourselves. But too many people quit. Too many people stop believing in the greatness within them. We have to keep fighting. We have to make choices—better choices about how we eat, how we live, how we love. When you’re tempted to sit down and waste time, make the choice to get up and work on your cardio instead.

Becoming the greatest version of yourself demands the best version you can be. To reach that version, you’re going to have to push past the pain and recognize that this pain is molding you into a legend. It’s transforming you into a warrior. Remember, we didn’t come this far to only come this far. Get up and fight. Get up and bleed for the person you want to become because we only get one shot at this life, kings and queens—just one. Make sure they remember you forever. When you look in the mirror, see the person you love, not the person you regret.

Greatness doesn’t happen overnight. It starts with small steps that turn into giant leaps. You’ve got this. Yes, you’ve got this. I’m speaking to all those young kings and queens who are locked up, incarcerated for losing control of their emotions. A wise man once said that a person who cannot control their emotions is not yet a man. It’s a hard truth, but you’re not fully a man or woman until you take responsibility for your life, your actions, and make a conscious effort to change.

To the young kings today, I want you to know that just because your family tree has rotten roots doesn’t mean your garden has to wither. What if I told you that you could break free, travel the world, and plant that family tree in fertile soil? Too many people get locked up and never learn, never change their mindset, never release the pain of losing loved ones. They hold on to that pain, and in that moment, growth stops. The pain becomes a tsunami that drowns you, that convinces you that you’re less than, that you’re worthless.

But I want you to know this: life isn’t over until you say it’s over. The fight for your dreams isn’t over until you quit. So today, rise up. Run. Chase your dreams. Believe in that rose that grew through the concrete.

And here’s my challenge to you—take one small step today. Write down one goal, something that scares you a little, and take the first step toward it. Whether it’s eating better, getting in shape, or letting go of past pain, make that decision today. You are phenomenal. You’ve got this.
