FINCA launches new drive to expand reach


FINCA Tanzania has launched “Fika na FINCA,” a campaign to reach out to low-income entrepreneurs all over the country with financial products and services.
Since becoming the first microfinance institution to transform from a non-regulated entity into a microfinance company regulated by the Central Bank in January 2013, FINCA has offered a wide range of loan products and added savings accounts to its portfolio. Launching the campaign in Dar es Salaam yesterday, FINCA Head of Retail banking, Mr Gershom Mpangala, told reporters that through its fixed term deposit account, his NGO was offering the highest interest in the market at 14 per cent. Mr Mpangala said as a first-time customer at FINCA one could now access individual loans of up to 150m/- in five days only. The benefits offered by FINCA’s savings accounts are numerous, among which are the ease to open and operate an account, minimal paper requirements and procedures, free withdrawals and deposits across all branches nationwide, and security of the customer’s accounts provided by the use of a biometric system. He noted that FINCA’s loan products have been diversified to include agriculture loans targeting farmers particularly those in rural areas and education loans to assist owners of educational institutions as well as those seeking to pay fees for their children and relatives. Through its multiple delivery channels, FINCA continues to put the convenience and satisfaction of its client first. With both mobile banking and FINCA Express agent banking that was recently launched, customers can access their funds at any time from where they are. It has been a trusted financial services provider in Tanzania for the last 16 years and plans to maintain its responsible banking standards as it continues to serve and empower Tanzanians as a whole.
