Kenya's Harambee Stars were placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Zambia, DR Congo, and Angola, which is a tough pool. Being the first time competing in the biennial competition was definitely not going to be a walk in the park for Benni McCarthy's men. Co-hosting the competition alongside Uganda and Tanzania means the pressure will also be high against Stars. Kenya played two-time CHAN Champions DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Sunday. Despite the odds being against them, they delivered a 1-0 win courtesy of Austin Odhiambo's strike that came in the stroke of half-time. The hosts managed to hold their opponents and eventually collected their first win in the group.
