The National Examinations Council of Tanzania will host the 31[SUP]st[/SUP] Conference of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) from 12[SUP]th[/SUP] to 16[SUP]th[/SUP] August 2013.
The Venue of the Conference will be at Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge in Arusha town, Tanzania.
CONFERENCE THEME
The Conference Theme will be: Enhancing Assessment Practices for Quality Education
SUB-THEMES
· Innovations in assessment practices and their implications in improving quality of education.
· The role of classroom assessment practices in improving quality of education.
· Enhancing teachers capacity in assessment for improving the quality of education.
· The impact of information and communication technology in educational assessment.
· The relationship between continuous assessment and final examination scores: Implications on the quality of education.
· Dynamics of language in assessment and learning outcome.
· The challenges associated with assessment of soft skills for quality education.
· The impact of security breach on the quality of examination and assessment.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Interested persons are invited to submit abstracts with a maximum of 250 words on any of the listed sub-themes. The text should be in MS-word format, 12 points Times New Roman fonts which must also include the title of the presentation (centred and bolded), the name(s) of the author(s), institution of affiliation, contact details, email address(es) and the theme that the presentation will address. Authors of the accepted abstracts should be committed to attend the conference. Abstracts should be submitted by uploading on the AEAA website: http://www.aeaafrica.org and sent as an attachment to Dr. Charles Enock Msonde, email: emsonde@necta.go.tz, not later than 9[SUP]th[/SUP] February 2013.
PAPER SUBMISSION
Papers of not less than 3500 words should be submitted by email attachment, not later than 15[SUP]th[/SUP] April 2013. Only authors of the accepted abstracts are expected to submit papers. Papers should be relevant and address particular themes of the conference. Only original papers that have not been submitted elsewhere should be submitted. Presenters of accepted papers should be at the venue of their presentation, and observe time as stated in the conference schedule.
Suggested sections of the papers are: Introduction/Theoretical Framework, Purpose(s)/Objectives, Methods/Procedures, Results/Findings, Discussion Conclusion/Recommendations/Implications and References. All the papers should strictly follow The American Psychological Association (APA) format.
