Am not a techer am an Economist proffessionaly..........when prices of most comodities goes down (not a single commodit as you stated) it means the currency is gaining its value and therefore its a clear indication that the economy is performing well,bt extreme low prices is a sign of deflation which is also harmful to the economy.
