Happening right now. Battle between the heavyweights about to ensue. Who will blink first? Mo Farah(GBR), Glen Rupp(USA) and our homeboy, Abel Kirui(KEN). Stephen Sambu, winner of the New York City Marathon 2016. Paul Lonyangata, winner of the Paris Marathon this year. Other Kenyans in the race, Bedan Karoki, 5th pos. London Marathon this year, Bernard Kipyego, Kenneth Kipkemboi and Augustine Cheruiyot, a first timer.
 
Florence Kiplagat, the 2010 World Half Marathon Champion and double winner at the Chicago Marathon(2015 & 2016) has her eyes set on her third win in the women's race. With stiff competition expected from our neighbour Ethiopia namely from Mosinet Gerenew and Birhanu Legese. Other Kenyan women in the race, Brigid Kosgei, who placed second at the Chicago Marathon last year and won the Honululu Marathon this year and Veronicah Nyaruai.

Swiss wins women's wheelchair race 3mins behind the men's wheelchair race winner from the US.
 
The Kenyans and Ethiopians break away from the herd led by Bedan Karoki and Abel Kirui with Mo Farah in the chase pack a little way behind. This is a race to watch!
 
Florence Kiplagat is left behind with two Kenyan ladies Brigid and Veronicah and Ethiopian Dibaba leading the pack.

Hayupo, ni Abel Kirui na Bedan Karoki. Dah! Mo Farah na mhabeshi wamewaacha wakenya wawili na mjapani nyuma. Sidhani watarecover labda tupate third position. Upande wa pili naona mwanadada Brigid Kosgei ameongoza kwa muda mrefu na hakuna yeyote yule mwingine aliye karibu naye.

Mo Farah amedeserve huo ushindi, amekimbia race yenyewe vizuri sana. Kenneth Kipkemoi amewai nafasi ya nne Geoffrey Kirui ya sita Abel Kirui nafasi ya saba na Bedan Karoki ya tisa. Wakenya wanne kwenye top ten. Kwa akina dada tumeweza Brigid Kosgei amekimbia race nusu bila yeyote yule nyuma yake amewai nafasi ya kwanza.
