[h=2]China plans big expo in Dar es Salaam[/h]
[h=3]Some 500 world famous Chinese companies are expected to take part in Brands of China African Showcase 2013 slated for September 10 to 13, this year, at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.[/h]
A statement issued by China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corporation said the exhibitions seeks to strengthen economic and trade ties between China and Africa. The first African showcase was held last year in Tanzania.
This year, the showcase will bring together 197 exhibitors from 14 provinces and municipalities in China including Worlds top 500 well-known Chinese companies, reads part of the statement. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with African countries in broad range, promote common prosperity and upgrade the China- Africa strategic partnership to a new level. The statement touts the showcase as an important platform for economic and trade exchanges and play an active role in achieving common interests and win-win outcomes between China and Africa. Trade between the two partners is growing rapidly. Last year, trade volume reached 198.5 billion US dollars, a 19.3 per cent year-onyear increase, which is 13.1 percentage points higher that Chinas overall foreign trade growth rate. Chinas imports from Africa totaled 113.17 billion US dollars in 2012, up by 21.4 per cent compared to imports recorded in 2011. The country has remained the largest trade partner of Africa for four consecutive years. Accommodated to African market needs, the China African Showcase 2013 will exhibit four categories of products namely machinery and vehicles, home appliances, electronic communications, solar energy and related products in addition to consumer goods and building materials, chemicals, medical and comprehensive products.
