Singer Chris Brown was arrested yesterday afternoon by Los Angeles County deputy sheriff on a warrant related to his 2009 conviction for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
He was taken to the inmate-reception center in Los Angeles, where he was being booked into jail, Los Angeles County Sheriffs Capt. Mike Parker said. He is being held without bail.
A judge ordered Brown, 24, be taken into custody after being notified that Brown was not following his probation and had been discharged from a Malibu rehabilitation center where he was ordered to stay, a court spokeswoman said. The singer, who also faces a misdemeanor assault case in Washington, D.C., had been in the center for anger management as part of his court-ordered probation.
