KENYA: The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has promised its government will exploit natural resources to create wealth and jobs.

Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka who is the CORD running mate singled out the discovery of coal and oil in Mwingi and Turkana regions, saying this would transform the country. Kalonzo spoke at Ngomeni, Katse, Kalatine, and Kamuwongo in his former Mwingi North constituency to drum up support for CORD.
He was accompanied by Kitui County senatorial aspirant David Musila, gubernatorial candidate Julius Malombe, former MPs Gedion Ndambuki (Kaiti), and Charles Kilonzo (Yatta).
"Our coalition is interested in the aspirations and needs of Kenyans to improve living standards of the people. We will work to improve the well-being of Kenyans when we form the government," Kalonzo said.
Selling the pact
He urged all candidates seeking different elective positions in Kitui County through CORD to ensure they market the coalition.
The VP said CORD will ensure full implementation of the Constitution and was committed to addressing national challenges.
"Time is up for Kenyans to confirm true change by voting for CORD.
Most of the leaders in Jubilee did not stand for the constitution. How can you entrust them with reforms Kenyans voted for?" he posed.
Kalonzo said his government would ensure proper devolution to guarantee equitable distribution of resources.
The VP thanked Kenyans for their patience and expressed confidence that CORD government will guarantee the change that the country has been yearning for. He appealed to Kenyans to elect a CORD government, saying it has the capacity to unite the country.
Kalonzo further urged the electorate to elect Raila Odinga as the next President of Kenya, with him as Deputy President on March 4.
Musila, Malombe, Ndambuki, and Kilonzo called on the electorate to campaign for CORD to enable it win in the first round.
