Hebu vaeni kama mama zetu sie waliotuzaa zamani. Ilikuwa mama mjamzito ndio anavaa nguo za heshma zaid. Sasa nashangaa siku hizi imekuwa kinyume jamani!!

COVID19 VS Common Flu
Similarities
-Both cause fever, cough, body aches and fatigue; sometimes vomiting and diarrhea.
-Can be mild or severe, even fatal in rare cases.
-Can result in pneumonia.
-Transmitted through air droplets, physical contact, direct coughing, sneezing, talking
-Both can be spread by an infected person for several days before symptoms appear
- No treatment for both infections only treated by addressing symptoms
-Both infections can be well prevented by isolation, washing hands, coughing into the crook of your elbow or using toilet paper to contain the virus, stay at home when sick, maintaining social distance etc
Differences
-Influenza has a vaccine while COVID19 does not have one
-Influenza cases worldwide is 1 Billion per year while COVID19 is 1.43million per year (still counting)
-Influenza death is around 700,000 worldwide per year while COVID19 is 82,000 worldwide per year (still counting)
-COVID19 death rate is almost 3% while Influenza death rate is less than 1%
-Human body has immunity against Influenza while the same does not have immunity against COVID19 because the virus is new

HOW COVID-19 KILLS--I'm a Surgeon--And Why We Can't Save You

SARS2-Covid-19 virus can cause severe problems. This happens when it moves down the respiratory tract and infects the lungs, which are even richer in cells with Ace-2 receptors. Many of these cells are destroyed, and lungs become congested with bits of broken cell. In these cases, patients will require treatment in intensive care.

Even worse, in some cases, a person’s immune system goes into overdrive, attracting cells to the lungs in order to attack the virus, resulting in inflammation. This process can run out of control, more immune cells pour in, and the inflammation gets worse. This is known as a cytokine storm. (In Greek, “cyto” means cell and “kino” means movement.) In some cases, this can kill the patient.

Just why cytokine storms occur in some patients but not in the vast majority is unclear. One possibility is that some people have versions of Ace-2 receptors that are slightly more vulnerable to attacks from the coronavirus than are those of most people.

Nimeyajibu maswali haya kwenye video hii:
