Rais wa Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta ametangaza kuwa mtu wa kwanza amepona kabisa ugonjwa wa corona.
''Hii inamaanisha kuwa ugonjwa huu unaweza kukabiliwa''alisema rais Kenyatta katika hotiba yake kwa taifa.
Idadi ya walioambukizwa ugonjwa wa corona nchini Kenya imefikia 28.
Rais pia ametangaza hatua kadhaa ambazo zitasaidia serikali yake kukabili janga la corona ikiwa ni pamoja na amri ya kutotoka nje kuanzia Ijumaa Machi 27 kuanziasa moja usiku hadi saa kumi na mbili asubuhi.

Ushuru wa ziada utapunguzwa kutoka asilimia 16% hadi 14% kuanzia Aprili 2020.
Rais ametangaza hatua ya kupunguza mshahara wake kwa asilimia 80 huku mawaziri wake wakipunguza mshahara wao kwa asilimia 30.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has now imposed a countrywide curfew of between 7pm and 5am effective Friday, March 27 as part of measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
The only persons who will be exempted from the curfew are medical professionals, health workers, critical and essential services providers.
“…effective Friday, 27th March, 2020; a Daily Curfew from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. shall be in effect in the territory of the Republic of Kenya, with all movement by persons not authorized to do so or not being Medical Professionals, Health Workers, Critical and Essential Services Providers, being prohibited between those hours,” said Kenyatta in a nation address on Wednesday.
The Critical and Essential Service Providers who will not be affected by the curfew include; Medical Professionals & Health Workers, National Security, Administration and Co-ordination Officers, Public Health and Sanitation officers in the County Governments, Licensed Pharmacies and Drug Stores, Licensed Broadcasters and Media Houses, Kenya Power & Lightening Company Limited.
Others include Food Dealers, Distributors, Wholesalers & Transporters of Farm Produce, Licensed Supermarkets, Mini-Markets and Hypermarkets, Licensed Distributors and Retailers of Petroleum and Oil Products and Lubricants, Licensed Telecommunication Operators and Service Providers, Licensed Banks, Financial Institutions and Payment Financial Services, Fire Brigade and other Emergency Response Services and Licensed security firms.
The Head of State further declared with immediate effect, the management of the Kenya Ferry Services will be undertaken by the National Police Service, the Coast Guard and the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO).
Kenyatta said the new measures had been sanctioned by the National Security Council through Public Order Number 1 on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
He reiterated on the need for Kenyans to observe social distancing to slow the spread and ease the effects of COVID-19.
