Court issues arrest warrant for Walter Barasa

Journalist Walter Barasa. The High Court issued a arrest warrant against him on May 14, 2014

The High Court has issued a warrant of arrest against journalist Walter Barasa who will then be handed over to the International Criminal Court.

Mr Barasa has been accused by Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda of interfering with witnesses at the ICC.

The arrest warrant was issued by Justice Richard Mwongo Wednesday.

In March, the High Court quashed orders staying Cabinet Secretary of Interior and National Coordination Joseph ole Lenku from filing an application for Mr Barasa’s arrest.
