COVID-19 in Kenya: 90 more people test positive, total rises to 3,305

90 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Kenya bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 3,305.

Health CAS Rashid Aman said all the new patients are Kenyans: 62 are male while 28 are female.

The youngest of them is 14 years old while the oldest is 80 years old.

The latest cases were tested from 2,419 samples: cumulative number of samples tested since the first case of COVID-19 in Kenya now stands at 108, 666.

They are distributed in the following counties: Nairobi (36), Mombasa (34), Busia (12), Uasin Gishu (3), Kilifi (1), Garissa (1), Kisumu (1), Meru (1) and Turkana (1).

In Nairobi, the cases are distributed in sub-counties as follows:
  • Kibra 12
  • Makadara and Mathare 5 each
  • Kamukunji 4
  • Langata 3
  • Westlands and Embakasi Central 2 each
  • Dagoretti North, Embakasi West and Embakasi South 1 each
In Mombasa, the new cases are from Mvita (14); Kisauni (8); Likoni, Jomvu and Changamwe (4 cases each).

All the Busia patients are truck drivers at the Malaba border point while Garissa has one new case from Garissa Township.

Kilifi’s one case is from Kilifi North while Kisumu has one new patient from Kisumu Central. Meru has one new case from Imenti Central and Turkana one case from Turkana West.

Four more COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the disease raising the country’s death-toll to 96.

Another 72 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,164.
