Kenya’s public debt is projected to hit Sh7 trillion by the time President Uhuru Kenyatta exits State House. And a report by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich shows the country’s debt burden will hit Sh5.6 trillion by June next year.
The annual Public Debt Management Report report further shows that national debt as at June this year both domestic and foreign stood at Sh5.1 trillion.
Domestic debt stands at Sh2.5 trillion while foreign debt has hit Sh2.6 trillion.
The country has received
Sh559.1 billion from China,
Sh101.9 billion from Italy and
Sh34.7 billion from Germany.
Other creditors are Belgium who gave Sh10.2 billion and the US (Sh2.9 billion). International Development Association (IDA) has also contributed to the debt burden by loaning the country Sh516.8 billion; African Development Bank (AfDB) has extended a Sh204.8 billion facility while International Monetary Fund (IMF) has given a Sh71.6 billion loan

We already have, but not through borrowing our way out of it.
Plus, we don't need to bail out irresponsible borrowers in case we establish an EA Union. So, we need to worry about that.

Yanatusumbua kwasababu ninyi ni majirani, kumbuka matatizo ya jirani yako yanasambaa hadi kwako, ona jinsi USA inavyosumbuliwa na Mexico, Kenya inavyosumbuliwa na matatizo ya Somalia na South Sudan, Uganda na Rwanda I inavyosumbuliwa na matatizo ya Eastern DRC, Tanzania inavyosumbuliwa na insecurity ya Kenya.

Hii tabia ya ninyi wakenya kuendelea kupinga kila mnapoelezwa matatizo yenu, ndiyo inayosababisha kuendelea kupokea food aid pamoja na kwamba mna GDP kubwa lakini haina faida yoyote kwa mwanainchi wa kawaida, no wonder mpo katika kundi la failed state, shame on you.

Kwani mapato ya nchi ni trilioni ngapi? Usiangalie madeni tu bali angalia pia kipato kwa mwezi au kwa mwaka. Kama ongezeko la madeni lina zaidi kipato kwa mwaka hiyo ni shida, lakini kama ongezeko ni dogo kuliko kipato kwa mwaka nchi iko katika mkondo mzuri wa kuja kurudisha madeni yake.
