Diamond is one of the biggest stars in East Africa and indeed, on the African entertainment scene. So it stands to reason that when you ask him to perform, you must be ready to cough up the big bucks!

And so it was that the folk at Standard Group decided to fly him in for a performance in Meru and from the photos and clips we have seen, it was lit with everyone doing their utmost to keep the throngs of fans entertained.

So what exactly did it cost Standard Group? A cool 4 million shillings!

hahah so he wasn't a success before beforming in Kenya! Or r u trying to mean he has never been paid that amount before?
This was not his first time in Kenya. He made his first real money when he came to Kenya - after Kenya built him he was then capable of hiring a good marketing team.

That's your opinion ,infact it's not correct to say that simply because that is not his 1st performance to earn that huge cash....he is the best ofcz and that is the continuation of better cash flow for him

Even when Mr. Nice was in Kenya, he mentioned he bought his first car only after performing in Kenya.

let me grab a bowl of porpcon, this drama is getting interesting

It is true you have to be a hit first in Kenya for you to make sense in Africa. Chameleone, diamond, mr nice, ali kiba.. we practically popularized naija music. Am not going to argue about this, because when it was happening you probably were not aware.
Though one undoing our openness has is we always think people will be as good to us as we are to them. We are so good that we forget human beings are selfish and jealous.

And we have the most selfish media houses ever, except some of the new ones like wtv, but the big ones are the worst, sometimes I always feel like they personally have it against Kenya. I don't understand how the media houses are allowed to ride every ones ass and report sh*t, be contemptuous yet they never allow anyone to go against them. Saw this today at the tourism summit, many times on twitter. The media houses have the guts to interview musicians and ask them a crappy question like " what do you think we should do to play more of ke music " like wtf, the irony. They were the ones who fought against digital migration, they are still fighting against the 60% thingy... If I was the CS I would cancel the licenses until they make time for 95% ke stuff. If it were not for youtube we wouldn't have heard of hart the band, how talented are they? I usually listen to some stuff on Soundcloud, youtube and they are soo amazing but you will never hear them on a radio station.
though I have to thank the likes of Whats good live. (an online tv and radio station), HBR, K24 actually try so hard, they even have Kenyan movies on sundays. The disease seems to have spread to promoter, and obviously people would identify with what they get to listen to every time.
let me stop.

I doubt the story is authentic but i wouldnt mind if he got that kind of money. He has been very successful to the point of becoming handsome despite his limitations on that front; kudos to him. I know Kenya is a ripe hunting ground for international artistes but i doubt we are at the level of paying artists 4000 dollars for a performance.
