It is located in Fez,Morocco.Ooh l haven't heard before..could you tell us where is it located
There are many features of Africa that are unique. If Africa has had a University, it had highly literate population. It ought to have been highly erudite and developed. Pyramids in Egypt are a demonstration of the advanced level of development. In West Africa also there are said to have been institutes of learning. In South Africa there is evidence of gold mines which are 50,000 years old. Going by these facts, which of course, need to be confirmed, our curriculum in schools and higher learning institutions need not be bound by colonial syllabus whereby African has been nomadic animalistic being in the past.I know most of us are still wondering but being African is a blessing.
And the university was founded by a woman called ALFIHRI.

But the oldest university is found in Morocco.

The definition of University of today may not be comparable to that of the universities in earlier times. Among those are Gurukul institutions which are there even today in India as Sandipani Gurukul and Patanjali Gurukul. The latter appear to be much superior to our western universities. Among the ancient Gurukul institutions are those in Takhshshila, Nalanda, Vallabhi, Pushpagiri, etc. Our present-day institutions have yet to reach their level of excellence. In this context, if we consider pyramids, anybody can see that these are masterpieces of architectural, scientific and structural technology and competence. Does our present day knowledge and technology have ability to construct one such structure, while we are still struggling to understand why and how they were created?Chanzo kimoja kina hii taarifa

While there are claims that the University of Al Quaraouiyine in Fez, Morocco is the oldest university in the world, it depends on how one defines "university." The University of Al Quaraouiyine was founded in 859 CE as a mosque and center for religious instruction, and it later evolved into an educational institution that offered courses in various fields. However, it did not operate continuously as a university, and it did not adopt the formal structure of a modern university until the 20th century.
The University of Bologna, on the other hand, has continuously operated as a university since its founding in 1088, and it is widely recognized as the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
So, while the University of Al Quaraouiyine is certainly an ancient and important educational institution, the claim that it is the oldest university in the world is not universally accepted.
I understand and acknowledge what you have said about the evolution of universities over time and the historical excellence of ancient Gurukul institutions in India such as Sandipani Gurukul and Patanjali Gurukul.
I also agree that the pyramids are remarkable examples of architectural and structural technology and that we are still trying to fully comprehend their construction methods even with our modern knowledge and technology. In this context, if we consider pyramids, anybody can see that these are masterpieces of architectural, scientific and structural technology and competence. Does our present day knowledge and technology have ability to construct one such structure, while we are still struggling to understand why and how they were created?
