FYI the kikuyu community owns over 80% of all the businesses and assets in Nairobi, 63% of kenyan GDP and according to world bank report kiambu is the richest county in kenya and nyeri comes 3rd............

A company associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s close relatives, which has been named in the Sh5.2 billion Afya House scandal, was listed in the Treasury’s roll of companies that should get preferential treatment for tenders reserved for the youth, women and the disabled.

Sundales International Limited, whose directors include the President’s sister Nyokabi Kenyatta Muthama, and cousin Kathleen Kihanya, is named at number 1,790 on the Public Procurement Oversight Authority’s (PPOA) 2014 roll of “Disadvantaged Groups” that should receive preferential treatment when they bid for tenders.

President Kenyatta directed in 2013 that 30 per cent of all government tenders should be allocated to the youth, women and disabled people.

But the inclusion of Sundales – which was incorporated in September 2013 and has accumulated an impressive portfolio of multimillion-shilling government tenders – will raise eyebrows.

That the firm is owned by the President’s sister and Ms Kihanya, who was a major figure in the corporate world as the head of sales and marketing at Mumias Sugar Company before quitting to run Mr Kenyatta’s presidential campaign in 2002, raises questions about the eligibility of the company for preferential treatment, which should be given to disadvantaged groups in bidding for tenders.

Sundales has attracted intense attention since an internal audit queried the expenditure of Sh5.2 billion in the ministry of Health, including hundreds of millions of shillings that were to be spent on the free maternity care programme.

Ruth Njoki and Stella Nyokabi, the two women from Kiambu that carried their extraordinary talents in stealing to South Africa, will be deported back to Kenya with immediate effect, a South African lawyer has told the court.

The two who were working at a meat processing factory were caught with 40kg of meat each, trying to sneak out when a guard suspected their sudden bodily growth and impounded them.



Speaking before a Pretoria judge where the two were charged for ‘robbery’ – because that was obviously more than normal stealing, the prosecutor pleaded the court to let them go back to their country and not jail them there.

“These Kenyans have proved Mugabe right by confirming everything he said. What they have done, no South Africans has ever attempted. Mugabe said they graduate with stealing degree but I want to say the Zimbabwean President was wrong. These people deserve PhD’s in stealing. I hear that they come from a community that can steal socks from your legs without you knowing. I hear that that community can remove a tie from someone’s neck in broad-daylight without them noticing. I hear that these people can count money that is in your pocket through their extraordinary instincts and know when to strike you and succeed. Your honour, these ones are not going to be jailed here. They will infect and teach other prisoners how to steal. let them just go back to their countries. Your honour, let us conduct a fresh vetting of other ‘Kenyans’ working here in South Africa and prevent a potential crime”

Governor Kingi names directors of 5 companies who swindled county Sh51m

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has named directors of five companies based in Nairobi suspected to have conspired with county officials to steal at least Sh51 million from the county's bank account.

Mr Kingi's local government has been hit by the shocking scandal which has seen the anti-corruption agency and the Banking Fraud Unit move to investigate what was initially a theft of Sh30 million but which emerged Friday to be at least Sh51 million loss.

The county assembly has formed a special team led by Speaker Jimmy Kahindi to investigate the scandal and has summoned top officials for grilling.

According to Mr Kingi ten senior officials are suspected to be involved in the scandal after it was discovered that their passwords were used to access the bank account.

Speaking while opening a health facility at Kadaina in Matsangoni, Friday, the governor said any officer caught in corruption will be sacked and prosecuted.

“We urge IFMIS department, EACC, CID and Anti Bank Fraud Unit of the Central Bank of Kenya to speed up the investigation and arrest the culprits and bring them to full force of law,” he said.

Mr Kingi said it was shocking that private companies based in Nairobi could collude with some people to steal money from a county faced with hunger, unemployment and starvation.

“These five companies as per the preliminary investigations did not supply anything to the county government,” he said adding that “I will not hesitate to name the companies who stole taxpayers’ money.”

The governor, named the companies and gave their background information as follows,

  • Daima One Enterprises, opened as M-pesa business on January 28, 2016 in Nairobi along Juja Road. Its director is Sarah Wangui Kamau but has no identification card number nor telephone number.
  • Makegra Supplies Limited opened on May 4, 2015 located on the third floor of Nasiko Plaza, Landhis road in Nairobi. Its directors, who have no known identification card numbers and telephone numbers are Mary Kamau and Kennedy Irungu, with Stella Nyamu as the secretary.
  • Leadership Edge Associate Ltd opened on November 25, 2011 and located at Embassy Building in Nairobi along Harambee road. Its directors who have identification card numbers or known contacts are Samuel Macharia and Kangari Mwangi, with Ngugi Mwangi as the secretary.
  • Zohari Services Ltd opened on September 29, 2014 located along Lenena road in Nairobi, its directors who have not indicated their identification card numbers and contacts are Ann Muthoni, Lucy Wangugi, with Charles Nga’ang’a as the secretary.
  • Kilingi Supplies Ltd opened on April 17, 2009 located in Umoja One in Nairobi along Outer Ring road, with its directors who have no identification card numbers and contacts being Stephen Mutua, Hellen Nzilani and Richard Kariuki.
