I was unable to post this thread in the sports forum because of its wide reaching theme(in my view).
In recent years, Olympic games have been the one venue that brings together people from all over the world with political free minds (virtually). As I have been following these games: the Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics and the Paralympics, I have come to conclude that the games are formulated disadvantage people from the tropical region of the world, because naturally there are neither summer nor winter seasons in that region!
It seems to me that the Olympic games are designed to involve people of the tropics in the summer and the paralympics events only, while the off tropical regions get involved in all three events. Currently in Sochi you can see countries like Norway being represented by hundreds of Olympians while Tanzania or Kenya for that matter being represented by zero Olympians.
In view of that, I am thinking filing a petition for either abolishment of the winter Olympics or for introduction of Olympic events that will involve people of the tropical region only.
