Another lay man's way of arguing. What's the meaning of more international?
Again, why shifting the goal by introducing something strange in the discussion. We're talking about isiolo unaleta Wilson. Pambaf.
Cargo belongs to the importer,Not the gvt. Clearing agents are even willing to trasport the cargo themselves by road nairobi ICD for clearace than use the SGR but they are being forced by an illiberal gvt that does not respect market forces. That's a different story. The government is simply terminating the importation process at the inland port in Nairobi. From Mombasa to Nairobi, the cargo is still in the hands of the government not the businessmen.
Once they clear in Nairobi, as they would in Mombasa, they can use whatever means they prefer.
Plus its saving our roads.
Show me a hangar at Kisumu! As that was a reason for a visiting US President or Xmas president's bird to land.

And to add to that, Truckers pay the hugest cost of road maitenance leavy in their cost of fuel.
Statistics show that accidents are mostly caused by matatus/buses/personal cars not Trucks
You're truly and surely bongolala. I mentioned Wilson because that was what was quoted. Learn to follow the thread.
Isiolo is Kenya's sixth largest airport. What do you want to know about it?
What's so special with a dreamliner? It can land even in Isiolo airport. It's wingspan is not that big.
But the dreamliner, like other big aircraft, is made for long distance flights. That's the only way it will ever break even or pay for itself.
There is the minimum revenue per flight required for it to make any money.
Hio ya kwenu bongolala is just a campaign gimmick by your emperor. It is a loss making flying bus.
Any wide body airplane landing at Wilson with evidence! Ukunya mentality ni shida.Wilson is more international than your JNIA. It is the second busiest airport in Kenya with planes landing from all over the world.
Airlines deploy dreamliners to long haul lucrative routes. If Mombasa does not tick the boxes for an airline, they won't deploy their most prestigious aircraft on this route.
But that is not to say it would be technically impossible to land the dreamliner in Mombasa.
Truckers are the biggest source of Road maitenance levy. They pay and supass their "destruction" activity.*saving our roads. I did not say saving lives.
These trucks are the biggest cause of road destruction. Heavy goods should be transported on rail.
Cargo belongs to the importer once the government has cleared it. The same way even if DHL delivers your package to Nairobi via JKIA, you must wait for government clearance.
The government is killing many birds with one stone. It is decongesting activity at the port of Mombasa, and it is saving our highways.
It's been only a few months. Operations will be streamlined eventually.
The government is simply transferring some of its clearance activities from Mombasa to Nairobi.
It's just like Huduma centres taking away the workload from the main government offices.
To be called an international airport, there r criteria u have to meet. Plse don't bring ur Ukunya argument. That runway is well enough for the airport's capacity, and the infrastructure is of international standards. With our small country and smaller population our airports ziko tu sawa, usijicompare na sisi we are better than you.
uwache ujinga Kisumu airport haina Hangar. I saw this thoughI don't live in Kisumu. I could have taken pics for you.
Is there an airport without a hangar? A hangar is just a building that is not even expensive to construct. I doubt there is an airport existing anywhere without a hangar. Even airstrip.
But anyway, since 2015, 3 brand new ones were built.

In any case, hangars are usually built by private airlines.
Truckers are the biggest source of Road maitenance levy. They pay and supass their "destruction" activity.
Cargo incustody of clearing agents belongs to the importers, it never changes ownership.
There is no congestion or delay in clearing activity at the port of mombasa because custom bonded warehouses were privatised long time ago so your analogy of huduma centers is inapropriate.
Its an illiberal gvt forcing importers to use a logisticaly inappropriate SGR to Justify its useful ness.
Open competition should be the deciding factor for transport, but ofcourse SGR is uncompetitive
saw that
The airport also plans to build new apron stands which will accommodate three B737 and two B767 planes.
Wacha ujinga wa kipumbavu Kisumu is an international airport according to Kunyaland ego!Yeah. and maybe 2 planes with a larger wingspan. Ama you think an apron is exclusive?
And it's not like there wasn't an existing apron.
Any wide body airplane landing at Wilson with evidence! Ukunya mentality ni shida.
You think my job is to stand there and take photos?
And I don't know how many times you want to be told this. Airlines schedule their biggest planes for the longest and most lucrative routes. For Kenya that is easily JKIA.
That is not to say if an airline wants to land in Wilson it will be unable.
Wacha ujinga wa kipumbavu Kisumu is an international airport according to Kunyaland ego!
Wacha ujinga wa kipumbavu Kisumu is an international airport according to Kunyaland ego!
Kisumu INTERNATIONAL airport has everything your JNIA has. Apart from demand. Give it a few years.
You dont know port business. Delay is not because of congestion but a slow "simba" system as well as port inefficiencies in port operations and corruption. Private custom bondend warehouses are very efficient, but are slowed down by KRA and KPA shenanigans.Mombasa has always been accused of delays. Clearance often takes much longer than it should. And the cargo never changes ownership, but until the government finishes with it, you can't have access to it.
The things your government forces businessmen to do can only be compared to a communist country.
From listing their shares on the stock exchange. To giving pay tv customers free channels etc. the list is endless.
