Tanzania's annual inflation rate rose to 12.7 percent in October from 12.1 percent the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a report on Sunday.
It said annual food inflation had increased to 18.1 percent in October from 17.3 percent in September, while nonfood inflation stood at 4.4 percent from 4.0 percent. NBS said the monthly headline inflation rate for October rose 1.1 percent.
Tanzania's annual inflation rate crossed into double digits in September 2008 for the first time in nearly 10 years.
