East African Presidents turning states into Political chaos!

Let me start by saying this; Shame on African Presidents trying to make their states which belongs to Wananchi as their family homes. Look at M-7(Uganda), look at Uhuru Kenyata(Kenya); look at John Pombe Magufuli(Tanzania); look at Kagame(Rwanda) and look at Kurunzinza(Burundi). All of them are now planning to remain in Power for the rest of their lives.

• In Uganda, Museveni(M-7) is now doing all means possible to change Uganda Constitution to extent the Age Limit to above 75 years of age.(Now at 35-75 years)
• In Rwanda, Kagame have already changed the Constitution to extent the terms from 2 consecutive terms of 7 years to unlimited terms!!! He is now harassing opposition Madame Diane Rwigara and Family simply because she tried to run against Kagame in the last General Election this 2017. Kagame won with 99 percent of the votes. Having essentially run the country since he returned from exile after the 1994 Rwanda genocide, he could now, under the current Constitution, potentially remain in power until 2034!.
• In Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta now in a process to sign the Bill in order to amend the constitution of Kenya on election terms and conditions so that come the 26 October re-election Jubilee wins with a landslide victory as a free and fair election!!Uhuru and Ruto are just playing with the IEBC, Jubilee and The constitution of Kenya to remain in power.
• In Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli a.k.a Bulldozer, there's every sign through the back door,using his party MPs trying to move a motion of extending the term from 5 to 7 years or remain in Power for the next 30 years !!Reason? He is a Bulldozer, bulldozing the opposition side by shooting anybody trying to criticize his holy government!!!
• In Burundi, the story keeps repeating! Pierre Kurunzinza have already endorsed the constitutional for him to remain in Power for 3 terms consecutively instead of 2 which was supposed to be expired in 2015.He is now in Power until 2020 and he'll continue to cling on Power may for life!!

It looks like all East African Presidents are cowards and cursed to the core by their ancestors who died many years ago and no body will come for their rescue day but only The God Almighty. God bless East Africa and her good and humble people forever. Amen.

Hivi ndivyo tunavyotaka iwe hapa kwenye jamvi, ukileta mada au kuchangia, ni muhimu sana uwe unauhakika na hilo jambo, na unaweza kulitolea ushahidi, sio kuleta mihemuko na maneno ya barabarani, kwasababu huko mitaani kuna maneno mengi sana, kama huna uwezo wa kuyachuja na kuyapambanua utabaki na hasira na chuki zisizokwisha.

Ni kweli Africa tunaviongozi wenye matatizo wengi, lakini pia tuna upinzani wenye matatizo mengi zaidi, ila pia tunamifano mizuri ya nchi chache kama vile Botswana, Namibia, Sychelles, Mauritius na Tanzania ambazo kwa kweli zimejaribu sana kuongozwa kwa misingi ya kidemokrasia tangu zilipopata Uhuru, kunawakati watu walizungumza kumuongezea muda wa kuongoza rais mwinyi, lilibaki hewani likakataliwa, Mkapa pia, Walianzisha agenda hiyo yeye mwenyewe akawakatalia, na wale walioanzisha hiyo ajenda akawavua uongozi.

Juzi juzi hapa Magufuli alisema hawezi kuongoza nje ya muda wake kwa sababu anaheshimu katiba ya nchi. Kwahiyo hii habari ya baadhi ya watu kutaka kumuongezea rais kipindi cha utawala haijaanza leo na haijawahi kukubalika, hii ni kwa sababu ya misingi imara iliyowekwa na Nyerere ya kuheshimu katiba.

Magufuli sio politician, yeye ni mtendaji zaidi, ana tatizo kubwa la kuvumilia mtu mwengine, sio wapinzani pekee, hata ndani ya CCM hakukaliki, ukipata watu wa karibu na familia yake watakuambia hata nyumbani mke wake hazungumzi kitu, ni mkali sana, lakini sio mpenda madaraka, ninakuhakikishia Magufuli hawezi kuongeza hata siku moja ya kukaa madarakani baada ya kipindi chake kwisha, wala haturuhusu mabadiliko ya katiba ya kumuongezea muda, ila hawezi kuzuia watu kutoa maoni yao katika hilo, hasa wakiwa bungeni kw sababu haruhusiwi kuingilia yanayosemwa ndani ya bunge

At least Magufuli's effort are, for the time being, flatfooted.

JmaNkamia, the MP championing the motion to extend presidential terms, withdrew his motion for the time being.

The tricky part of this move is that it involves constitutional changes. There are a plethora of other changes that are unfavorable to the regime (private candidates, clipping the wings on an imperial presidency etc).

Tabling this motion will necessarily awaken the sleeping ghost of wider constitutional changes.People will ask, since you guys are introducing this one constitutional change, why not address these other we have been wailing about for the longest?

The powers that be asked Mr. Nkamia to settle down on this. It does not carry favor with a lot of the older and retired CCM stalwarts anyway,and it will certainly be branded as going against the spirit of rule of law and Nyerereist stoic adherence to policies as opposed to personality cults.

For the above reasons, I do not think this move has a chance in Tanzania.

Magufuli himself seems to have biten more than he could chew in running for the presidency,he is constantly complaining that he did not ask for this, he was just thrown into the race. Right after saying that he went and took the form on his own accord, nobody asked him. So nobody can dictate to him how to run a country.
