Uganda was bogged down in a six or seven block radius of Mogadishu for four years and only sortied out in late 2011 after Alshabaab numbers had been substantially reduced by the kdf in Southern Somalia.Mogadishu based fighters moved south to reinforce losing positions reducing pressure on the UPDF. The Afmadhow battle alone killed over 200 AS fighters. By the time Kismayu was captured a total of 3000 were dead. Mind you Ethiopia temporarily occupied Mogadishu but withdrew and the US,UN Western experience there early 90s was painful. Also Ug got a lot of help from US PMCs during their occupation but still couldn't make any headway. Apart from El Adde disaster i don't think we have ever suffered any serious losses.

Which airpower does KDF has?, you are using F-5 fighter jets, which are second generation, can't fire lesser guided missiles, Maximum speed 1700Km/hr, manufactured 1950s.
TPDF uses J-7, third generation, with hot spot which can be fixed with lesser gaided air to ground and air to air missiles, maximum speed 2200km/hr, manufactured 2014. Tell us which war KDF has won since Kenyan's independence?

KDF has more attack helicopters - over 50 in number, TPDF has lesser than 10.
KDF has been hitting al-shabab bases and training camps with the jets since they entered somalia, the AU force didn't have any airpower before that.. you remember UG tried flying some helicopters to Somalia?? they all crashed in the Mt Kenya slopes - a friendly territory.
And besides, in somalia attack helicopters have been very effective as a force multiplier because they can do close-air support compared to jets.
