To say what? You seriously expect a whole minister to come out, respond to some gutter- press claims? And why is your cabinet is discussing about? that's why you haven't seen Rotich coming out and deny it.
Any responsible government will not sleep on any allegations whether is true or not. The last thing government wants is creating uncertainty or fear of unknown. So it doesn't matter who comments on this issue if is senior or junior but someone needs to clear the air. I'm not sure anyone can do that without cabinet approval. To say what? Most likely he hasnt even seen the report, even if he has, it is below the dignity of his office to respond to such.
Wait till the mainstream media carry the report.
That is perhaps the Tanzanian way of doing things, and perhaps, sumbody would have spent some few days as the guest of the state, and perhaps the offensive newspaper or website shut down.Any responsible government will not sleep on any allegations whether is true or not. Reports kama hizi zinaanza kuonwa na wachache!Which other media story has corroborated that claim by the Kenya WS? I have searched for that even in the Capital Economics website but no.
That report sounds like propaganda aimed at tainting the Uhuru govt.
U can even check that Kenya Wallstreet website, it has so little in terms of content, meaning it was founded only recently, clearly as propaganda tool.
Pray tell, from where and when did you hear the cabinet sit down to discus allegations made about GDP figures' validity?
People in JF regularly taint Tz as full of lazy people (wrongfully). Did you at any point in time hear a communiqué from your ministry of public works rubbishing these reports?Any responsible government will not sleep on any allegations whether is true or not. You've no idea how government conducts it business. Let me give ana example, election is around the corner in Kenya, if there was rumour that jubilee stole election will jubilee of the government or IEBC keep quiet knowing the conscious of not putting the record straight. Why there so many questions about tally center in Tanzania, did NASA just ignored the rumour? That is perhaps the Tanzanian way of doing things, and perhaps, sumbody would have spent some few days as the guest of the state, and perhaps the offensive newspaper or website shut down.
Our govt officials have better jobs to do than address the millions of false rumours swirling around almost daily, and thus according both the undeserved attention and credence to the obscure press and individuals.

In financial world is the same, one little rumour can bring down everything.
Lets wait and see the election aftermath. The real data dhall surfice. It was 63 in 2015, 69 in 2016 now it is 75 ( in bn$).
That's why it was pushed fast to cabinet to discuss, you might not hear anything because the government is on winding up mode for the next government. The govt can only bother to rebutt allegations from reputable persons or organizations. If the claims had indeed emanated from the Capital Economics, (and their is no way the most outstanding media houses would fail to report on the allegations) there is no way the govt wouldnt be jolted to react in order to set the facts straight.
I know how the govt deals with info, especially the potentially damaging as this.
