these is a phenomena rivaled by non...the land of peace is fragmenting, scares me. if handled carelessly, clandestine nature of the zanzibar movement might as well spread or inspire similar movts to other parts of the peace loving nation.
The moment Tz goes from a single-party system to a true multi party demographic only then will she realize the many challenges her neighbour upnorth has and undergoes....worse is that she might not be prepared. The NSIS version of tanzania better be awake. They have never voted a separate govt to power, they have no idea the tension accompanied with transition of power, esp when leaders are neck to neck....

nairobi is doing all she can, she is currently set at installing CCTV cameras at an expense of ksh 8bn. At times even with the tighest policing instruments terror happens, i believe if it were tanzania u would be as vulnerable. Its not intelligence failure, i want to believe so but lets wait for the final report. However, the concerned parties are aware of the Kenyan cries and are doing their best to adjust, an indicator is response time to distress which has greatly improved. Thanks.
 
Kenya police hunt Nairobi blast suspect

AFP - Kenyan police said Tuesday they were hunting for a man suspected of planting an explosive device that ripped through shops in central Nairobi, wounding 38 people.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga branded Monday's blast a "terrorist" attack and police said it was most probably caused by a homemade bomb after initially blaming a possible electrical fault.

"We are carrying on with the investigation but so far we have not made any arrest," Nairobi's deputy police chief Moses Nyakwama told AFP.

"We are pursuing information that there is a person who went and placed a bag in one of the shops and that is where the explosion went off," he said.

"We have the description of that person, officers are piecing together information that will help get him and the people he may have worked with."

Nyakwama said the number of people wounded by the explosion, which ripped the tin roof off a complex of small stores, has risen to 38.

The scene of the blast on Nairobi's Moi Avenue has been cordoned off as police sift through the debris in the burned-out shops.
 

They know this and would reluctantly allow multipartism. The clandestine nature of the zanzibari movement is just a meltng-pot for such ideological Islamic extremism to take root. Many people are willing to die for their ideologies and extremists are not left behind. I must say even the westerners thought that it would take Alqaeda physical presence to throw Africa into disarray. But Alqaeda is winning big-time. They have managed to indoctrinate/rally tuareg rebels in Malis's north, Boko Haram in Nigeria, Zanzibari anti-christian Islamic movement and Alshabaab in Somalia. All that would be necessary for your downfall would be if you have enemies. The irony is that no country in EA mother states can fail to remember incidences of extremism. But I know security apparatus in Dar-es-Salaam are way ahead in the look-out. For other not really aware.

Acheni kulia lia kama watoto wadogo. Kuna mada husika inayozungumzia machafuko ya Zanzibar, kwa hiyo haisaidii kuchanganya mambo!

What I am just saying is open your eyes. Nani alidhani machafuko yataanza kwenye kisiwa cha Zanzibar? Mukilala usingizi, sio Alqaeda watakuja, ni watu aina hawa wa zanzibar magaidi. Zanzibar has a bitter history with mainland. Hivyo kaa chonjo! Do not just delight in satarizing and procrastinating your parody on Kenya's woes

Tunaangalia Uhusiano ulioko Afrika mashariki na sio kujaribu kupindisha nyuzi. Tafadhali! Tazama historia ya EA muongo moja uliopita na visa vya ugaidi na ujaribu kujifafanulia kuwa ugaidi umeingia EA. Sio suala la nani ametakasika akangara au nani muovu. Ni suala nyeti ambalo haliitaji kufanyiwa uchanganuzi bila kuzuia mafikira kuingiliwa na jazba zezote za kimitaa.

Sikatai usemalo lakini nakusihi tu kwamba mchango wako kuhusu Zanzibar utafaa zaidi kama utaupeleka kwenye mada inayohusika. Kuzungumzia yaliyojiri Nairobi si sawa na kufananisha nani ametakasika au la. Fuatilia mchango wangu kwenye hii mada tangu mwanzo na uniambie wapi nimesema nani muovu au nani ametakasika!

Personally I do not like hiding behind words I am usually too direct in my approach towards issues, a fact that may make people of such nature, who showcase intellectual-dearths, intolerantly resent me.
