Tanzania is one of the country in Africa which never responded quickly to the deadly COVID-19 which broke out from Wuhan city in China. President John Pombe Magufuli allowed activities to continue running normally and now the disease is treating the citizens from Tanzania otherwise.
The latest claims which have hit the country is that the country under the leadership of Magufuli, the truth about COVID-19 is hidden. This follows true allegations that many people are being buried at night hence making the truth in COVID-19 deaths doubtable.
According to the government of Tanzania, only 16 people have died from COVID-19. Among the 16 deaths, three (3) of them are claimed to be of the MPs. Zitto Kabwe who is a prominent opposition leader in Tanzania has opened up that many people from Arusha and Dar es Salaam have witnessed people buried at night whereby grave diggers and pallbearers are wearing protective clothings.
Till today, Magufuli has not taken strict measures of controlling the spread of COVID-19 despite the high number of cases being reported. The church services gatherings are still on and other businesses are running as normal.
One of the lawyers in Tanzania was quoted saying that president Magufuli direct them to go back to work and continue praying. He then got into his private presidential jet and left to his home village.
The situation in Tanzania might turn even worse if mass testing takes off. So many cases may be recorded as a result of luck to put restrictions which would help the spread of Coronavirus. In the recent days, Tanzanian truck drivers have been reported to import COVID-19 to Uganda which is under a lockdown.
