Kenyan politics hasn't developed to the point where the voter understands the connection between interest rates and GDP growth. Instead he needs smth more elemental, more immediate on the emotional level to get him to down to the polling booth. That's why he's constantly shouted at and harangued about ethnicity and often told outright lies in broad day light.
Case in point the recent noise all over the media about Mudavadi seeking to inherit Uhuru's 5 million votes when he steps down for him-WHERE WAS IT WRITTEN SUCH A DEVELOPMENT HAD BEEN AGREED UPON? Now,such bs is taken as truth. Simple minds being taken for a ride in this climate has disastrous effects as we saw in 2007. Say no to lies!
