Fastjet yapata hasara kubwa tena, huku Kenya Airways ikiinusuru presicion.

Nimesoma habari kwa kina na nimeielewa, labda nikuulize what's your point? Habari imesema "Except for Tanzania, its home base, the firm's other businesses in Africa have been a disappointment and a major source of financial setbacks. It has also done business in Kenya, Angola and Ghana"
Argument yako ni ya kitoto sana, eti "it doesn't matter which market returned...." really? then why do you think the author made a point of analysing which individual market was profitable if that doesn't matter? We unadhani huko "kwenyu" mambo yakiwashinda watafunga Tanzania na kuondoka? of course not! Watafunga operations zao where they lose ("kwenyu" included) na ku-concentrate where they are profitable (Tanzania). I still don't see your point here.
Unachokataa ni nini kuwa habari hii ulitakiwa kupeleka kwenye forum "zenyu" ili mjadili why Fastjet inalose "kwenyu" but making profit in "tiziii"? sisi hapa we have nothing to do with why the airline is not profitable elsewhere, why should we discuss this as Tanzanians? All this news piece says, to put it into EAC community parlance is: " in respect to FastJet business, other members of EAC are dragging Tanzania down":A S wink:.

by the way my learned kenyan fellow: FastJet's corporate domicile is London, England not Tanzania.

a normal tz reasoning capacity huwa chini ya maji. you one bruised ego. superiority inferirity complex at work.an airline registered in tz and trying to start operations in other markets returned a negative balance sheet for the 2nd year. wewe ni kichwa maji cant understand whats a positive or a negative balance sheet.au profit and losses. wewe ata biashara ya kuuza kaimati usisongee karibu. anayeuza maembe kinondoni na kijana aliyemwajiri amuuzie sinza biashara zote ni zake na consolidated profit and loss account ni moja. the two areas are just different streams of income for the same business. wewe ni aibu tupu kwa watz hapa JF. tz guys can do better than show stupidity to these levels. sio kiarabu au kichina. sijui utafute mkalimani wa kiswahili au lugha yako ya mama. One last time, Its called a balance sheet crazy brains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except for Tanzania, its home base, the firm's other businesses in Africa have been a disappointment and a major source of financial setbacks. It has also done business in Kenya, Angola and Ghana.

Dar es Salaam. Fastjet lost some $81 million (about Sh130 billion) last year. Analysts say this might put a dent in the low-cost carrier's ambition to become the most successful airline of its kind in Africa.

Last year's loss adds up to $131 million (about Sh210 billion) in just two years, with its profit books failing to balance by a whopping $50 million in 2012.

The only one with a bruised ego here is you. Just look at the volume of nonsense you are spewing here deliberately to obfuscate your defeat. By the look of things hiyo balance sheet you keep singing about umejifunza juzi tu hapa so you are very eager to "share" your supposed knowledge even when it doesn't apply.
Lets take YOUR example of selling maembe kinondoni na sinza being different income streams of the same business. Now, if sinza (kenya) is not perfoming well why would you bring kinondoni (Tanzania) to the matter? what would you, mr balance sheet, want Tanzania with its positive performance to discuss about? On the other hand me with my "underwater reasoning capacity" would just take a look at SINZA(kenya)'s specific balance sheet and other business affairs to determine what can be done so that it becomes profitable on its own like the other business stream i.e Kinondoni (tanzania). I don't for the life of me understand how a whole group's consolidated balance sheet somehow is relevant in solving that. Any one with a basic "tanzanian reasoning" like me knows that a group's consolidated financial statements are only for analyzing aggregate performance of the entire group, that's why the author of the article pointed out how different markets are performing. Your only problem here seems to be the fact that Tanzanian market alone is performing positevely...

wewe ni kichaa. a company based in Tz releases its financial statements. A tanzanian newspaper with kenyan major shareholding picks the story and here you are Mr. know all trying to be the Fastjet finance officer. pathetic sick looser. The statement you trying to cook and release is so pathetic you sound like a mad man. There is only one fast jet based in Tz. There can only be one financial statement from fastjet which is out and its a huge loss.meza wembe hapa. wewe ni mgojwa wa akili. hukuna fastjet kenya au angola. only fastjet interests in kenya thru FLY540. kusema kulikuwa na balancesheet ya fastjet kenya, unayo matitizo ya akili.mwone daktari kabla uweke nguo chini

Our financial results

Key Pe

rformance Indicators

f

astjet acquired the Lonrho Aviation business in June 2012 and the results for the 18 months to December 2012

therefore only include six months of trading for the aviation business. The amounts included in Central in Note

2 (Segmental

reporting) have been excluded from the key performance indicators set out below.

fastjet Tanzania was launched in late November 2012. The results for the prior period include 5 weeks of fastjet

Tanzania trading and therefore a year on year comparison is no

t meaningful however the progress of the core

business unit over the past year is more appropriate.

As set out above the Fly540 operations in Ghana and Angola have been suspended whil

st

these operations are

restructured and or exited. The Fly 540 operation

s do not form part of the core business going forward and this

financial review has therefore focussed on the core business being fastjet Tanzania.

fastjet grew group revenue by 154% from $21.

1

million

in 2012

to $53.4 million of which $26.0 million is

att

ributable to Tanzania in 2013.

The

average load factor

during the year was

72% .

The a

verage revenue per passenger has increased from

$46.30 in January 2013 to $95.20 in December 2013 with

an

average revenue per passenger for the year of

$71.10.

The group

loss before tax increased from $55.

2

million to $8

2

.

3

million. The operating loss before exceptionals

of $47.

6

million for the year was up from the prior period operating loss before exceptionals of $30.0 million.

fastjet Tanzania contributed $21.9 million

to these losses in 2013.

Operating cost per seat excluding fuel reduced from

US$

123 or 19.9 cents per

ava

ila

ble seat kilometre (

'
ASK
'
)
in January 2013 to
US
$
89.0 or 11.6 cents per
ASK
in December 2013 with an average operating seat cost of
US$
87.8
or 13
.1 cents per ASK
.
The average fuel cost per seat was
US
$
24.4 or
3.6
cents
per ASK. fastjet Tanzania currently buys all its fuel
based on the current market price. This does expose the business to fuel price volatility and any change in the
fuel price will
have an impact on the cost of operations. Some if not all of any fuel price increase may be
recovered from passengers through a change in the
fares
that they are currently pay. fastjet does not have any
fuel hedging in place as the quantity of fuel that it
currently uses is too small for counterparties. As fastjet
grows and fuel quantities increase fastjet will hedge when quantities are sizable enough for counterparties.

1. "Only fastjet interests in kenya thru FLY540. kusema kulikuwa na balancesheet ya fastjet kenya, unayo matitizo ya akili": If i run a company called A with a subsidiary in kenya called B, then what's the big deal if i call the balance sheet of B as "A's balance sheet in kenya"? You must be certified!

2. Assuming you are right that FastJet doesn't have ANY operations in kenya, Then you my friend should ask that tanzanian newspaper with kenyan majority shareholder NMG ( which is majority owned by Aga khan, the BRITON!
:A S wink:) why they published this. Because this is the basis of our arguments. i quote "Except for Tanzania, its home base, the firm's other businesses in Africa have been a disappointment and a major source of financial setbacks. It has also done business in Kenya, Angola and Ghana". If this is factually wrong then go tell THEM!

3. I don't know where you get the idea that Fastjet has only one balance sheet. Of course since it operates in different markets it does publish consolidated financial statements. These consolidated financial statements are a combination of individual financial statements from EACH of the market they operate. that is, there actually as many balance sheets, profit and loss statements etc, as there are markets, one for each country, one for kenya, tanzania, angola, etc, then what they do is to combine these into the single statement for the public. These consolidated statements are used for gauging the overall performance of the group, marketing the shares in public financial markets etc. But if they want to know how a subsidiary is performing then they simply refer to that market's PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL statement. Publishing a consolidated balance sheet DOESN'T MEAN ITS THE ONLY ONE. Do you really think that if you buy a ticket in Ghana, that transaction would be recorded straight to this ubiquitous single account and no where else? even a common mama mboga knows that the transaction will be recorded in Ghana statements/accounts first, the single statement from HQ will be a combination of these individual ones.
what you are implying here is simply hilarious, and it goes to show the level of your ignorance at least in business, and arrogance in general, i wanted to say intellectual arrogance but i found none in your arguments.

you are very sick man.nobody can go thru what you wrote because arguing with a fool nobody wanna tell the real fool here. I gave you the fastjet statement and you still ranting a no reason argument see a doc. let me give you further homework. just go to Fastjet website and read the only balance sheet quoted by the citizen newspaper.utapunguza pofu kwa mdomo when you realize how nonsensical you sound. told you bwana kulalia maskio kenya hukuna subsidiary ya fastjet wala fastjet, they had interest in Fly540, a kenyan firm which hawakuelewana. for your information thats why fastjet opted for tz, they were to be based in kenya thru a Fly540 buy out, which never worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Summary

  • Fly540 Wednesday said it had made the move because Fastjet owes $7.7 million (Sh669 million) in licensing fees and for its failure to demonstrate compliance with 540's safety systems.
  • A statement from Fastjet refuted this claim saying that the airline was looking to address some of the issues that have arisen in the past couple of weeks in court.

The row between Fly540 and Fastjet has taken a new turn after the Kenyan airline withdrew the brand licences it had granted for Fastjet's operations in Angola, Ghana and Tanzania.

Fly540 Wednesday said it had made the move because Fastjet owes $7.7 million (Sh669 million) in licensing fees and for its failure to demonstrate compliance with 540's safety systems.

Correct heading otherwise you may face litigation

This is a waste of time, clearly you have issues, so let me agree with you and be done with you:
1. I agree with you that fastjet has only balance sheet, and every transaction that is done go through there! There are no other balance sheets for each of the market they operate, just one huge balance sheet!
2. FastJet did not have operations in kenya, the Citizen article was flat out wrong!
3. I agree with whatever else you said,
happy?

its not a matter of me being happy, its matter of giving correct information because JF is a big family and deserves the best and correct information.
after Fyy540 divorce Fastjet is now planning to enter the kenyan market. They better be ready for competition here.Kenya is an open business environment because any investments means a few more direct and indirect employment.hatubagua ila tu usilete wafanyi kazi kwa taaluma ambazo kenya tunao wataalamu.
